Congrats on the little man buddy!! He'll have a blast in that truck with you. My babies love riding in the truck. Too bad we've outgrown my gmc. I need to find a burb I think.

Thanks Jason, now I kind of wish I would have built a Blazer instead so that I would have more room

Thanks, I haven't been very busy the past couple of months. I was able to get some time out in the garage the last two weekends, but I spent all of that time cleaning out the garage so I can try to get some work done on this truck. It's amazing how much junk starts to pile up in the garage when your not using it

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

Finally was able to get back on the truck this weekend. Physical therapy is finally done and the knee is a lot better so it's time to start getting some projects done! I pulled the cab off the frame and took out the front and rear windows. The window channels are dam near perfect

I removed the snaps somebody installed around the rear window don't know why they did that but I ended up welding probably around 30-40 holes!

I just saw another truck recently exactly like this. They removed the rear window to make a "pass through" for a camper. It was a clear vinyl? "window" that snapped back in place.

...and yeah... you picked up one hell of a nice cab

I had something similar on a square body many years ago, but it used a rubber boot to connect the cab to a sleeper behind it and didn't have a snap in window for keeping out the weather if you removed the sleeper. The unit was just big enough for one person. It was rated for 500 lbs. but I'd have paid money to see two, 250 lb. people get in it.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

Good to see you back to moving around in the garage.
Maybe it's time to try and keep your knees off of the hard ground while you are out there.
Maybe some knee pads or something like that.
Awesome truck build.

I plan on shaving the firewall with the Porterbuilt firewall filler panels I have for it, plus shaving all the holes I won't need anymore.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside

Picked up some Sport bumpers on the parts board. The front is an original with nice patina, the rear is a painted aftermarket that I plan on trying my hand at matching the fronts patina.

Also ground down the welds around the rear window. I had a few pinholes to fill but not bad for an amateur
