Re: Project Patina Burb

Odd question, but I notice your booster vac hose.

I've hit a small snag with my 5.3 swap. My booster has the standard 3/8" barb fitting and the hose off the intake is 15/32" (like yours) What did you do on your booster end? I'm having a heck of a time finding a larger vacuum check valve for the 15/32" hose.

Re: Project Patina Burb

I can take a pic of it for you if you like? Honestly, the local guy that did my wiring and flashed my computer installed it. I do recall him making a comment about the check valfe,:but that he'd bought a new one and that fixed the issue.

Bryan,

What size tires did you end up going with? Trying to figure out some sizes for my truck for the near future. Thanks.

So is there a detailed write up on the spray rust technique in any of the forums here? I would love to know more about the methods used. Thanks.

I gotta say, that inspires me to get moving faster on mine! 68 GMC doing a LQ4 6.0 with a 4L80E. Block is in the machine shop getting cleaned up. Can only hope to look even close to that good!

It fits ok. I've had to patch up several holes in it. It's actually put of the burb right now because I have two small holes I'm trying to find someone with cahunas to weld up. It sits too low and scrapes a little. If this doesn't work I'll either get a shield or have a tank built.

Take it to the car wash and pressure wash it out good with soapy water, then rinse it out with clear water. I have brazed holes up in a couple of them after doing that.
