ok so is been a couple weeks since i posted an update on this thing due to being back to work but my new schedule is gonna let me be 2 full days off a week weekdays only no weekends and im gonna be getting off work a 6pm the days i work not bell to bell like i been for the last 12 years so now i can get back on this thing and have more time off to work on my other projects .....

i had some time to think about the changes i was gonna make on the backhalf...... i was off the last 2 days and was able to do some work one thing i know for sure i needed to do was hack off the bed frame since im gonna run my stock gas tank like i did on my 77 i also started to plate the inside and outside of the frame where the notch meets the frame and make it nice and strong i should have done this before but now is my chance here are some pics....

i got rid of the bridge also..... the brige wasn't going to work unless i enlarge my notch 2 inches from the top so i decided to cut it off and forgot that besides welding i had drilled holes to fit the bridge pipe in the notch so i had to fish plate it.....

I took a wire wheel brush to the stock gas tank removed all the surface rust and go it all cleaned up and ready for paint i also got rid off the bulky brackets since im not gonna use them anymore....

ok so this week on my days off i got started on my back half i was looking at what metal i have to build it and im gonna build the back half with the metal i have on my backyard pretty much all of it i got from my uncle for free so im not buying metal to do it some of it need some cleaning to remove surface rust but that's all this is what i have to work with wish me luck lol
the 1/8" plate i have like 10 of those the 3/16" plate i also have like 8 to 10 of them the 2" diameter pipe i have 8 to 10 of them the 2 1/2" dia pipe i have 6 of them i think i have enough lol...

ok so i got some work done on monday since i was off switch days off with another guy that needed friday off and today i worked on this thing all day most of the stuff i did was cut iff some of the old crap that was on the frame and fabricated some of the brackets and things i was gonna need here are some pics.....
i made a new driveshaft xmember out of one of the old pipes i had that way i can replace the little one i have there...

i didn't like how the notch was sitting on my axle when the truck is laid out so i notch the notch 3/4 of an inch and cut a bracket and welded a nut on one side and ended up using some old bump stops i just cut them down to half of inch aprox so the axle dont hit the notch metal to metal and use the bracket to box it back in....... no fancy tools here so bare with me guys.

more pics...... the mounts are gonna get fully boxed in once i get to weld them to the axle and they also gonna be reenfoced from the side by welding metal piping from the mounts to the axle....
