Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
I'm curious, why the black and white pics? Is the color a secret?

Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
body work looks good! Too bad we have to settle for B&W pictures for now.
I am hoping to get over to the Decatur swapmeet in February. Hope to get a look at it.

Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
I do appreciate all of the nice comments from everybody.
I'm not sure about my work eithic really. There are a handful of body flaws and other flaws in the truck that I just couldn't make myself fuss over. The paint isn't really that nice either. I'm no painter. Valerie told me yesterday that she saw my spark go out on this project awhile back and she couldn't understand how I continue to get up way before the sunrise and work on it past sundown four or five days a week when my heart isn't in it. It's because once this project is complete, I'm gonna close the book and move on to projects that excite me. I got several things besides old trucks that I want to spend a few years on.

Looks great, can't wait to see the color shots. Do you have an SM465 for this one?

Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
Yeah, ditto that - every time I look at something I think I've finished I feel a TX Firefighter on one shoulder and some dang German I've never met on the other. You're good at teaching the kind of detail work that matters to those of us that can't pull it off that well yet.

Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
I know when I was at a certain point in my project I felt the same way. A small list of little things that 'I could've done better' pile up. I can tell you that once its all buttoned up that stuff went away for me. Granted there are things that still bug me, but they just stay on a list and get taken care of in due time.
Hopefully once you get a chance to take a look at it from a 'stand back' point of view you'll be happy. It looks killer from here man! |

Alright Kevin, we know you are still out there and have been on the board.
What is the latest on this one? It's been 2 weeks since you posted on this thread...

Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
I haven't done much to it recently. It's 29 degrees in the shop right now.
The Dropmember and front suspension is all finished. Brake lines finished. All paint and body is finished. Current to-do list is -swing engine off of stand and into truck. Build trans crossmember -reinstall front sheetmetal -wire and install gauge cluster into dash After that, build exhaust and align front end. Not much really. Maybe a week of work to do to get it driving.

Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
I feel your pain on the cold. Went out to work on mine the other night, and it was 34 in the shop. Hard to get motivated to deal with those kind of temps!

This is probably the last photo I'll post until the completed color pictures. I guess it's now obvious that I'm building a cartoon bagged out farm truck.

Re: My daily driver/beater : How I turned lemons in lemonade
<raised eyebrows> why you ask, are there pictures floating around out there somewhere that I haven't seen ? Only Preacher Mike, Shane, and Louisiana Keith have seen more than what I've posted up here.
I lost your phone number awhile back when I had a little situation in the Metro PCS store and no longer became welcome to be one of their customers. So I had to start over with a blank phone and AT&T service with a new number.
