Re: 67 long box
Put the engine and tranny together and dropped them in the truck. Literally dropped it, the hoist hydraulics broke and down it went. Not a lot of major work to repair but what a piss off. I didn't even get a scratch so all is good. All cosmetic paint work and engine / tranny are fine.

Re: 67 long box
I was very lucky just about crushed some fingers, but all good. I'm not doing to bad, this is only the second one I've dropped trying to do it myself without help. Stubborn old man won't ask for help. Just let it fall and fix the damage path.

Re: 67 long box
Did you seriously fix that in an hour and one minute?! Never mind the time to take your pics and post,,, That would be a 6 hour job for me, sheesh.

Re: 67 long box
Installed the new tranny mount and it looks great. I found out the clutch master was going to be too close to the exhaust so only other option was on the other side. Then had to add to the master push rod to reach the pedal. I'm going to replace the made piece with a heim joint. I made a cover plate that seals against the old grommet to fill the manual clutch rod hole.

Re: 67 long box
I appreciate the offer, but actually I was referring to your joke about the CNC grinder. Great work as always sir.

Re: 67 long box
Had a good day today and got lots done. Still waiting on the slip yoke and not sure what's going on with it. Makes it hard to seal the tailstock without one.

Absolutely, but I'm gone on that weekend to the cottage. But I'll be home some of those days. I'll let ya know what days I'm here after I consult with the boss that's sleeping right now.

Looks as good as if the General himself assembled it! When do you think you will get to fire it?

Re: 67 long box
Hey doc I read through almost all of your build. Amazing stuff. Two questions: on the wheel tub how did you solve the structural issue? And what type and thickness of wood was used for your door panels?

Re: 67 long box
In this pic I cut the two middle x bars and connected them on the side. I have an angle bolted to the bed side that holds the first and forth x bars to hold the ends. When the tub goes in it bolts in with 10 bolts it makes it part of the structural supports. The first three x bars are bolted to the frame and the forth x bar is bolted to the composite boards. If that helps, I not even sure how I figured it out some times. LOL I used 1/8 MDF for the door panels and the strips on the panels.

Re: 67 long box
Power steering all went in perfect, so did the hydraulic master with the small hidden bracket, and all coming together. I'm hoping to fire it today, soon very soon.
