Re: My 52 GMC Build
you have a late model hydroboost? bleeding unecessary, crack the lines at the master and fill the reservoir, when fluid creeps out, tighten the nuts. start the engine and push the pedal a few times. bled.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Never used a hydro boost so I can't help you with that.
I'm sure you will win!! Good luck!

Re: My 52 GMC Build
the problem is those plastic fittings on the bleeder lines. they leak past the threads. I had to make up some steel lines using some tube nuts and some scrap steel brake line to get my master bled properly.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
I saw these online..... I always heard them called "thumblights" for some weird reason.... lol
Bleeding with a hydroboost - is it really that easy? how does the fluid get out to all the corners if they arent opened up too?

Re: My 52 GMC Build
there arent check valves in the ports of the hydro boost master cylinder outlets, and air rises, so pressing the brake under accumuator pressure forces the air back and forth until it bubbles out the reservior.
I didnt believe it either, I started with a slap empty system when I changed the rear axle in my 65 with a tahoe hydroboost setup, cracked the ports, dripped, tightened, started engine, stepped on the pedal a few times and had 4 wheel brakes clapping at me. the pedal kicked a few times at first, but after that was smooth as silk. YRMV, but I bet they dont.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Thanks for the info guys. Joedoh I think your right the peddle was better tonight. I now have a low one push peddle and can hear the brakes move. I bleed the brakes again got a few little bubbles. I will have to wait till I start the motor. I have never dealt with hydro boost before. Then my friend Joe stopped in and confirmed that how my brakes are now is how it should be with a hydro boost without the motor running. So thanks everyone I feel much better tonight. It was driving me nutz. On to the next on the list.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So tonight I got a few little things done so I could put the passenger inner fender on loose. Replaced turbo oil return hose with one good for oil and installed block heater power cable. So I rotated the turbo housing so I can run the new piping along the inner fender. Yup that looks much better than the black flex hoses.

Nice! Where you get your piping and couplers, siliconeintakes.com?
I love that site. They have everything at good prices.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
That looks nice! The worst part to me of a HX35 or HX40 is the stupid PITA ginormous snap ring that retains the compressor housing on the center section.

But if the snap ring pops out, it is not so fun.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So for today I started putting the doors together. I got the door latches modified for the door poppers. I'm using bike brake cable and adjusters so I can get the right pull and have the solenoid out of the way of the window.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Oh and Saturday night we where out for dinner. My friend Joe text me and said he left something in my shop for me. This is what I found.
The license plates for the truck are LOWER50S I have had them for almost 9 years. We had talked about doing this instead of tint. It's perforated vinyl we settled on a design but I had no idea he went and did this. Thanks Joe

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Not so funny thing happened to me today, jumped on my bike to go for a spin down the mountain and surprise....no brakes! Some a-hole stole my brake cables. Lower 50s, you haven't seen any used cables have you? Window treatment looks good, when my buddies stop by all they do is leave me with empty beer cans! LOL
