They became stock in 66.
But you could order many options for earlier years.
.
Many guys still add them today.
That may be the case here with his truck.

Good looking rides everyone.

Could someone lowered say 2/4 or 3/5, or 4/6 take a measurement from level ground to the wheel lip.

Thanks.

A more accurate measurement would be from the wheel well lip to the center of the hub. Tire sizes will make a difference in your answers otherwise.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

From a previous thread 14 in. from wheel well to center of hub in the front is a 2.5 in. drop. In the back it will depend on whether you have a step side or fleet side sense the wheel wells are not the same height.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

I had the same problem Desert.Chevy. I found some 15" "Camper Specials" They are stock for our trucks so they use the hubcaps and there 8'' wide with an offset that will accommodate the disc brakes. I haven't figured out how to post a picture on here but you can check it out on the 60-66 chevy.com Facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/groups/191006017617783/ or my personnel https://www.facebook.com/rickeylee.rogers

Thank-you!! The floors are nice. The pass side rocker is the worst. As soon as this crazy weather changes I have plans to replace both rockers. I like this 64 because it's a factory air truck. Check out my post (Lucky Find)

That thing is perfect. Fix the rockers and leave everything else alone. I love it. I wish mine didn't have spots of new primer paint on it and a primer door or I'd do the same as yours.

I agree.
In fact, I wouldn't replace the whole rocker.
I would do something far less intrusive and just patch the rot.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

New member. Just bought my 63' a month ago. I thought this should be my first post considering this was my first mod.
CCP kit -springs, shocks & swaybars
Front- 3' lowing springs with 1/2 coil cut, so it's probably 4' total
Rear- 4' lowering springs with 2' drop blocks, 6' total

Welcome aboard, & nice truck! Although I must say it appears to be a '65 instead of '63.

How does the truck ride after being lowered?

How much suspension travel do you have in the rear being that low?

Thanks.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

Thanks!!!
It was restored about 2-3 years ago. Not show quality but excellent daily driver quality, with the major stuff like motor&trans and body&paint already being done. I like wrenching, and can do bolt on parts but when it comes to the major stuff I'll pay a perfessional.

In my opinion the springs have a perfect spring rate. Not too stiff, but stiff enough, along with the sway bars to give good corner handling. The shocks that came in the kit aren't very good though. The front tends to have a floaty bounce. I'm really picky when is comes to my suspension and handling as I tend to do track days with my other cars, but this truck is my daily driver. I wanted a more comfortable, but fun ride that I can zip around corners. I didn't want to put a ton of money into it, that's way I bought the kit. If I had to do it over agin, I don't think I woud recommend this kit. You can probably piece together your own kit with better shocks, and better swaybar endlinks/mounts for around the same price. I'll probably upgrade to better shocks in the future.
Theres about 1 inch travel in the front after shaving down the new bumpstops a little. In the rear I have zero travel it's riding on the new bump stops, as I did not c-notch.

A super nice truck!!!!! If you get bored down the road later, a little more two toning (white or maybe a light silver-ish) would take this truck to another level!
But, it looks fantastic either way!!!

Thanks man. I actually really wanted to find a white truck, but this was pretty much exactly what I wanted...short bed, big window, non-step side, V8... and at the right price. I think the PO was trying to match a stock GM color, but as you can see in the pics it's not, this is exactly how it looks in person. And if I had my choice I wouldn't have put so much metallic for the charcoal interior.

I'm still super stooked on it!!!!!
