Marc,

You brought a big grin to my face! Thank you!

I have wrestled and gone back and forth with this for quite awhile and decided, all things considered, this is the best direction. It is a really nice car and I will miss it. Time is finite and would rather spend it on the Burb. We've made a little progress in the last year.

Appreciate the well wishes! Maybe you have some buddies that are interested?

Doug

Thanks BC Toy chest! I have too many projects, including needing to weed spray the gravel drives around here, finish up the 56 for HRPT and do basic maintenance on the dually.

You have a nice shop and some really cool toys. The shop looks big enough for the old coupe to just set until you get around to it. Just call it "garage art" for now. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Maybe one of the grandkids will want it.

I noticed you were looking for some seats over at the other forum. DZ never priced them or gave measurements, did he?

Thanks! We love our shop. The 35 has been here for 10 years now and somehow I keep putting other projects in front of it. May keep it.

Last I checked on the other forum he hadn't. I did see he posted to the 47 to 54 panels and burbs on Facebook and may hit him up there. A second seat in the rear position I think would work on my Burb with the widened wheel tubs and differential bump in the floor.

Once you sell it it's gone. Maybe you should keep looking at it for a bit and then decide. I had to sell my 36 5 window coupe to fund my crew cab build. I would go out to the shop everyday just to look at it even though it was so far from being a driver and needed everything. Good luck.

Good point and thanks Chizzler. I remember a post where you mentioned selling your 36 Coupe. With most decisions, I am laser focused and positive in what I want or need to do. With this 35 I've been pretty wishy washy. And I notice in general this car draws the interest of folks 60 plus.

While the Burb languishes back in the corner, the 56 is getting closer to being ready for HRPT. The sending unit in the Spectra tank just will not seal so I am thinking the fix is a new tank. New Lokar shifter is in and I need to button up a few details on that, then talk my good friend into fixing the A/C...should be good to go.

Though not fancy, we love our LS.

And I scored a solid upper and lower Burb tail gate from FB I plan to pick up in TN. tomorrow. Mine is solid and has a ton of bondo in the lower gate. Wanting to have this one in case it is needed. They don't grow in trees here in the rust belt.

Nice score on the parts. I remember seeing that listing. I guess that I missed yours was a clam-shell.

Thanks for posting all of the work and stories. They are part of life that goes on around most builds. Hope you keep the 35 and post it on this site ( and yes I am over 60 ). Looking forward to the continued work, what you have done is great.

Yes Jim, this car has a good personality...a 10 footer. Lucky stumble on the parts.

I've always liked the tri-fives. Figured if I didn't use the parts I could always sell them. Mine were decent, this bottom is better.

Thanks Dwight! I have too much rambling on in here for a true build. We do enjoy the journey though.

Speaking of journey, I drove the four hours down to TN to pick up the parts and it turns out the seller is the owner of Jason Graham Hot Rods. He has had several magazine covered builds, a really cool shop and some very nice builds going on. He has three years of work backed up. I can see why. I just love stumbling into cool people like this.

AD-

I too admire Jason Grahams work from afar. I'm curious what he does with the AD suburban that he is going to be building.

Did you get to see it when you sent to pick up your clamshell?

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait

Very welcome Jim!

99, funny but I had never come across Jason before. We are friends on FB now so I will be following. I need to get into IG I think.

Marc, I didn't see his Burb as he had it stored away somewhere. He is building it for himself as a shop truck and time is scarce due to all the customer work. Anticipate it will be cool as we were talking about the upper hinges...his are broken too...and he is having some machined at a shop. Fixing those are just one more item in a long list on this build.

In other news I ordered my ride tech stuff from Tom at Trick Trucks and Rods. I've mentioned before I really trust Tom and he talked me into the basic paddle control system. He pointed out the plusses and minuses of all their systems (I was thinking of the digital with automatic level control) and we settled on this one. Much less expensive. It will have one Five gallon tank with two compressors.

Interested in seeing how you like your air management. I really like my accuair set up, but want some cheaper alternatives for my personal builds.

I don't dabble much with FB. I think IG is way better. I'v found so many folks on there that I would possibly never have come across. Like anything else, good content and people here and there. but.... alot of trends and hype I could care less about.

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait

Iceburgh - I agree that coupe is spectacular.

99 - I just signed up for Instagram and am still figuring it out. I am following Jason Graham though and bought one of his son's pinstripe art pieces through FB. Will keep you posted on the air management system. Tom ran his paddle system since Air Ride - now Ride Tech - started many years ago with no problems.

Six long folding tables of parts for this 35 have been set up for folks interested in the car to make it easy for them. Man, it takes a lot of parts and space to build a car.

Ever fall back in love with a project again? Between you and me.... I am way OK if this doesn't sell....and I finish it off.

While the Burb languishes in the corner, I've been kicking around some rear ride height electronic measurement ideas with a friend of mine who is kind of an electrical genius. He linked me to the needed parts on Amazon in a few minutes and they are ordered. Will do some R & D once all parts arrive and report back if the idea is worth pursuing.

its amazing how much stuff gets crammed in a build. from the outside you never think it would be that many different parts, time or money. I don't think that underestimation will ever go away for me.

What is your IG name? I'll start following you. mine is directioneast

Thanks Jim and Chizzler! The Ride Tech parts should show up this week and hope to get some time on the 48 Burb next week end. And hopefully take the Grandkids to a local cruise in the 72.
