Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
I thought I read somewhere the 67/68 front fenders and grille had to be used with the hood...
Looks so good though, I want to do that to mine since I got it.. lol Love the plates! LOW-BUK Last edited by texanidiot25; 06-06-2007 at 01:02 AM. |

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
That is true, in order to utilize the hood in it's stock form. however he modified the hood to fit the later style fenders and grille.

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
I know he will chime in eventually, but it seems he removed the skin from the 67/68 hood and installed it over the 70 hood inner frame.

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
He didn't cut the skin off, he just cut the front of the hood off. Look in this thread for pics of how he did it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=243168

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
Well now that the main build is done as far as low buck builds (except paint) so I am making it a bit more comfy for driving. I sold my 99 SPD so this is now my only running truck and tow vehical so I added some interior goodies.
I changed out a few pieces that did not match like the dash pad, sun visor clilps, headliner and arm rests. I then pulled the seat and carpet and installed 36 square feet of dynamat extream. I will need to get another 36sq to complete the interior. I still have the doors and firewall to do. The first 36sq did the headliner, back of cab and most of the floor. I will do the cab corners once I weld up the trim holes and gas filler hole then I will do all the way up th efire wall to the top back side of the dash and in the doors. Just what I have done so far is amaizing and I can't wait to do the rest some day. The truck is done for now utill I get some power issues fixed with my shop and get the next customer build done. It has been in the shop for a few weeks now and I have not been able to start on it yet so that is the next push. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
So you installed the Dynomat under the headliner?
I was considering that. I thought about getting a 'new' headliner kit through one of the vendors & putting some insulation under it. I figured here in TX the Dynomat type stuff wouldn't like the heat & would release from the roof in limited time. My thought was the insulation (thin jute pad type) would be light enough that the headliner retaining trim would be able to hold it in place w/o problems. Not ideal, but better than a bare 'tin roof'.

I sold th ePSD because I only used it for towing maybe once a month if that. Other than that it just sat colecting DMV and Ins fees on a monthly basis. When I did tow it would only be parts or maybe my rockcrawler but never anything that required that much truck. So now with Low Buck running great I will use that for my main non comuter vehical and my tow vehical. I would rather tow slower with Low Buck that faster in a Plain Jane PSD Plus how cool will it be to tow my 70 2WD Blazer to all the shows with a 70 tow vehical Kevin LFD Inc. |

I had a chance to get my 71 (Slow Build) out today (well I had to remove the tent it was under for the last year) and got a side by side shot! I also put a battery in the 71 and that LT1 fired right up and after letting it run for awhile it started running great! It had a real bad flat spot right off idle when I first got it running so I got pissed and shut it off and here it sat for the last several months. Then I had a thought that maybe the new system just needed time to learn it self (Painless Perfect RPM computer and wiring kit) and sure enough that is all it was. So some day I may have two triving trucks Ya right who am I kidding! Kevin LFD Inc. |
