Thanks guys! I was worried about going with such tall sidewalls but I think it was a good choice. I like a little meat on there like Danny ewing's truck had with the 18/20 combo.

The tank: With the 22's I have more ground clearance that I did with the 17's. I'll probably just put a skid plate under it.

305's: They actually fit with stock tubs but do rub a tad on the inside around hard corners. That's a backspacing issue more than tire size though. I'm gonna have to run a 5/16-3/8" spacer in the back (since Coys stopped selling the 5" BS in 22x9) Plus those 13" trailer fenders will help a bit too

My truck is gonna be my daly driver so I'm running big tires too. 275x45x20 on all 4. In the rear I'm gonna run a spacer also to bring the tire out closer to the fender so it looks like a wider tire than it is but I'll be able to rotate like normal to extend the tread life a bit.

Iam new to the forum butwould like to say your burb / tahoe is very cool. I actually saw it at one of the beaches cruise ins. My son and I thought it was so cool. I have to ask, it looks as if you do a lot if not most of this work in your attached garage at your home?? If that is the case that is something. I can barely spray simple green or armor all without my wife going nuts that she can smell it through out the house. Tell me are you a bodyman by trade? Sorry if Iam asking questions that may be answered in your thread but I haven't had time to go through the whole thing yet. Well your work is amazing and the burb is so coool!!! Thanks for your time.

Yep, she's hiding back there awaiting her turn. That "2-car" garage is more like 1.5 and just too small to do much in. That's why I've slowed way down after getting the 61 back about a month ago. Shopping for another house now!

Hey welcome and thank you! Cool that you saw it and noticed. I'm not sure many people realized what it was and I didn't get a chance to talk to many people about it (so many sweet rides to check out). Here's a link to pics of that day.

Yes I do work in my tiny garage (for now), and I have a girlfriend who respects my passions. She helped me build the fiberglass kickpanels and we both suffered from the smell together

I'm not a bodyman by trade, just by hobby. I'm an engineer in the semiconductor industry.

I'll definitely be hitting more PIR events next season

Nathan hasn't had any influence on me though.

I wasn't actually thinking of those as adapters but I guess because of the way the attach, they are. Where are you going to get your spacers? I know I'm gioing to need some also to get the look that I want.

I'm in the process of installing longer studs now (NAPA), and I picked up some 5/16" Mr. Gasket spacers. They are thin enough to allow the wheels to still locate on the hub.

That is a nice wheel / tire size combo. I agree with haveing some side wall on there. Heck it will help save your wheel from a pot hole. Being an ex-tire monkey, i saw that alot. Do you have room back there for a 73-91 Blazer tank? They are the same width side-to-side as the 67-72 tanks, but are longer front-to-back. They are square 27x27 or something close to that, but only ~10" deep compared to ~15 for the 67-72 tank. This would give you a lot more ground clearance for your tank and up the capacity to 25gal.The LWB trucks have no problem, but the shorties have to move the rear frame crossmember- dunno what the rear of a 'burb frame looks like.

This is the same tank that I have in Low Buck and teh best part is they are EFI ready. I first installed it with a carb motor and just pulled off the intank pump and added a hose for pick up. Then when the LT1 went in I pulled the hose and put in a stock 92 vett EFI pump and away it went. Plus when done right they look stock from the back and still work with big drops. Only down side is they come as a pass side filler (but that can be changed!).

That is the best look for that body style Ive ever seen.It looks like it was made that way,and a front cover for Classic Truck mag.Where do I find the body drop site you were talking about.The wheels made all the diff. in your sub.I hope mine will look half as good as yours does.Thanks for the pics. I cant wait to get mine going.Are you using a tig welder there seems to be very little heat damage on your welds.I have a mig but think it makes alot of extra body work.What model do you have and what is the cost on one if you dont mind me asking.Thanks Again for letting us see what prog. on you project.

I'm in Corvallis. I had about 15" of lift on it but i didn't want to ruin the body taking it off road. so I figure low and slow will be nice.

I just got the 81 front suspension all apart to mock up the crossmember, I'm gonna chop 1.5" out of it before it goes in.

the rear i know ill be a linked set up of some sort.

I'v been to a couple shows up north but only as a tag-a-long in my co workers 69 c10 and his 72k5 so I need to get mine done.

Also we do the A&W cruises in Stayton on every other wednesday i think they run may to oct.

Longer wheels studs and 5/16" spacers are going on. No major work until after T-Day. When I tried on 305/45's at the shop before i ordered these (they didn't have 305/40's to try) it really looked bad; 4x4 style. But I think the 40's (in a different brand) work pretty well. They'll definitely be more pothole friendly than the 30 and 35 series.

Like the one in my Blazer tank on the cheap thread (sig link)? Too bad this board bought every last tank from Coleman's after I posted that I'll have to look again, but think the x-member behind the tank has to come out, and I have my tank mounted there I'll probably just have a cell made if it comes down to it.

Your's is very similar to the one I posted from Coleman's. Not sure about the EFI ready aspect though.

I may have mentioned a body drop somewhere referring to my 61. But that won't really apply to a conventional body drop. Mine uses a completely different frame.

I use a mig: tac-tac-tac-tac-tac....

Doh! I forgot that was you... Also slipped my mind that your air tank was occupying that space as well. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Oh- and thanks for the hook-up on the cheap tank!
