Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
I noticed that, hopefully you can make it work and not have to buy new ones. As for the color I was serious but now that ya mention it, thats pretty funny... How about purple. .

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
When I spoke to Ballistic on Fri and they told me the parts still hadn't shipped, I asked them if they'd ship em out 2nd day air for me since they were so late and he said okay.
Well he did what he said, they arrived today. Turns out the TR ends on my cross over are larger, might be able to get the one end machined out hopefully. Also turns out that the factory TR has the correct ends, so if I can get enough adjustment out of it, I can use it and I get my high steer too. |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
I'm assuming that the new drag link connects to the box and the old one is connecting the knuckles. Other than the obvious, the draglink is no longer hanging out front and subject to damage.. Is the way you are doing your steering make the truck drive better?

The cross over set up is what will make it drive better, the high steer is a side benefit. |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
would I see much of a benefit with crossover and 33 inch tires?

Cross over is only really appicable when you get into bigger tires (36+) or around 6"s or more of lift. (mainly the lift issue) Are you running a D60? Last edited by vtblazer; 01-13-2009 at 06:37 AM. |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Does cross-over steering improve turning radius at all? Are there other tricks used to improve turning radius?

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
No, D60 here. i'm 5'8 and my lady is 5'2 on a good day. so My truck won't ever get bigger than 33 and I only do light logging road wheeling. So I will be sticking with the dana 44. I was just curious if it would help my truck handle a little better.

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Axle is done and it's at least a roller again.
It's currently having to share the space, those 37's don't seem to look so big anymore... The interesting part is, how can one blazer with 37's & 2.5" springs, sit just as high as one with 42's & 6"s of lift? |

That could be the question of the day, actually the orange one sits 1"-2" higher from the first pic

Two is a lot, this could change in the coming months. Initially the tires on the blue blazer were pretty 'aired down' lets say but even when I pumped em back up, there's not a whole lot of difference between the two as far as sitting static. |

Re: Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way
Now your down to my level, but way cool to have them in YOUR shop. Maybe time to reorganize, relocate workbench to basement?

Is 2.5" the exact lift on the front of the red one? You have a shackle lift on the rear which should be 4" or more and it looks to be sitting level. Just curious. BTW. They look good in there together. I'm glad the ballistic arm showed up finally. The H2 rims look good to. I always like the way they look on the older trucks. Jason
