Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Yes I am for now. I have an Edelbrock intake, 1406 carb and some old eddie finned valve covers that I may put on one day but for now its just going to be stock.

I like quads and haven't had any problems out of the ones I've had in the past. I've gotten a few rebuilt by a friend and they always performed good.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I just ordered some new stuff from lmc. door sill plates, tranny cooling line, interior blue paint for my door panels and top of the dash. Maybe I should have gotten two cans but we'll see.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I was this close to hitting the buy it now button. This is simple to nice of a truck to let go. The only thing that stopped me was I just bought a 65 swb bbw for the wife Christmas present as a surprise.

I will be stalking this build.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Congrats Duallyjams. Post some pics.
I got a little done today. I painted my radiator, shroud, clutch hole plug, trim over the door panels.
I also got my order from LMC. The stainless sill plates, tranny cooling lines, and the paint for the interior. I installed the cooling lines. I painted the defrost vents with the blue paint but it didn't match the color. You can see in the pic that its much lighter than the door panels. I'll keep looking for the correct color.

I also started cleaning my starter. Its covered with grease. Heres some pics.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I did a little today. I took off the grille and painted the core support. I had welded the gmc headlight bucket holders on a while back but didn't paint it then. And I put the condenser and drier on. Also the lines for them. I need to clean up a hood latch and get it put on.

Thanks. The paint was still a little tacky in the pic. It looks splotchy. I'll check it tomorrow.

I did. I think it'll be my back up in case I need it. There are not too many 67-68s left. I have another one thats pretty dented. I am thinking about doing something with it but haven't made my mind up yet.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I started the fuel filler plugging on the cab. I first cut out the inner lip so I could work it easier if I had to. And I did a little bit. I will clean up the inner part later. I welded it in and its ready for a skim coat of filler. I also cut the center vent hole for the air conditioner vent. I need to do the side vents next. I took off the trim on the fenders and primed the white part of them. I snapped some pics while I had it outside.

I'm gonna need some sanding blocks. Anybody have some suggestions? I've been looking at Dura blocks. I'll need a long block and a med. size.
