Just can't seem to get the sockets to spot rubbing blasters. The lawn mower are fun just have to be slow n take the time to clean them good. Done two push mowers this past week n fixed the stearing on MY riding mower. Burnt out the rotor on the 95 chevy . Been using it to go to Alb for Dr appt. It has AC. Got a weed wacker in today to fix, the big two wheel type, blows oil out the filler tube. Still have bot gotten into my head how to make the gas gauge work on the truck,use the gauge n the sending unit out of the 78 chevy. The gauge had the printed board in the dash. Got one NEW tire(215/70/14) for the front, will get another one this next week. Have to drop the exhaust out from under the truck so that I can weld up the pipe better(exhaust leaks). |

oldman3;
Thank You; It looks like it will just take time to get the sockets right. It just means a round trip of 200miles each week. A full day of driving. The sores are starting to heal up with the use of an older bigger socket for room. Just an update. T-p Auto Tim |

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;
Hello Everyone;
Have not posted in sometime; Have still had problems with the sockets fitting right. When I do fell good, I have had several lawn mowers to work on. The past couple of weeks I have been on lawn mowers. Try to install the rear glass today. Keep coming out of the rubber around the glass. So tonite I glued the rubber in the cab let it set all night see if I can get the rear window installed tomorrow. Just never have try to install a rear window. Try to save enough to order the power window kit from "speedway" Just a update for everyone. NOTE; They are making me a NEW ck socket to get the fit right before I get it lamadated. T-P Auto Tim |

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;
Hello Everyone;
I'm back: Been out enjoying the truck during the good weather; Well it has been raining here the past few days. So time to get back on the truck. Got the back window installed (pic0 Got new front tires on. (pic) went with black side walls. Got the top n side air vents working (pic) Took the hood off to do some work on the front to get it closer to matching the grill. (pic) All so will get the upper hood latch installed. Worked on the dent area of the hood before I paint the hood (pic) Going to redo the lower steering column support. Have not gotten the wiper motor yet so not able to drive in the rain. Still have not gotten the side power window set up yet either. Hopefully I will be able to do that next month. UPDATE; Got one NEW socket to fit my leg. I really did enjoy driving the truck around town. I got a couple of offer to buy the truck, just was not at that point. Enjoying it to much. T-P Auto Tim |

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;
Glad you got the socket sorted out.
Feels a little good to have people validate your work by offering to buy it. Granted you don't want to sell, if at all, but it boosts the ego a little bit by having people validate all your work. Keep it up! |

AD;
The socket is feeling good. Have had it for the past couple of days. It is just a fit socket,if need to adjust then will do so on this fit socket. So far it feels good. Iowaboynca; It was nice to have someone ask you about your truck. Just never though someone would want to bye the truck,even if not finished. Going to redo the steering column mount n make a upper hood latch. T-P Auto Tim |

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;
Hello;
Well the NEW socket seems to be working great. had it on all day yesterday n all so today. I'm all so breaking in a NEW pair of boots with this socket. NOW; Worked on the truck hood yesterday n today. Just could not get the front of the hood out as far is I would have liked. Got it looking better so ill have to go with what I have. Put some filler on the hood n sanded it out (no pic) forgot Did get the hood sanded down n painted (pic) All so got the center strip sanded down n painted all so. (pic) Will let dry over nite n try to reinstall tomorrow. Worked on the NEW brace for the steering column all so(no pic) It is still raining here a couple of times a day n a lot at nite. The weeds are in full on green, just to wet to mow them down. T-P Auto Tim |

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;
Hello;
GREAT NEWS; Got the fuel sending/gauge working. It has been raining here a lot. Got my riding lawn mower working again. With all the rain the weeds are in full growing. Spent the morning cutting the weeds down again. Went out to help a friend set the doors on his 50 truck. With that done I looked around at his yard n found n old 52 truck with a 12v wiper system. I got the wiper motor with the arms n the holders all for 5.00. I just never seen a wiper motor with two gears(1 on each end)no pic. Will try to get a pic tomorrow. So now I have a gas gauge n a speedo with a tac, oil press n water temp. Next is the window power units from speedway on the 1st of the month. Looking at another project, I think it is a ford body,bed,rear fenders, frame with stright axel. I know a (FORD) ! ! ! Get what I can when I can. T-P Auto Tim |

Re: The "Frankenstine" build;
Hello;
AD; The problem with the fuel system was the sending unit was bad; The reason I had so much trouble was that on the bench it worked fine. When installed in the tank in the truck it would reed pass full every time. Found that with the gauge n sending unit on the truck with a battery charger as power, it was not ground the right way. Took a couple of hrs to find the problem. Will work on the wiper motor this next week(cleaning n finding a switch to work0 It is going to take some time to get the wiper motor working then installed, Looks like I will have to order a couple of wiper blades n wiper arms(9in). I may have to wait for the power window units. I hope to hear from the guy on the (next project) truck. T- P Auto Tim |
