Finally got off my lazy butt and finished my instrument cluster.

And installed into the truck. Everything actually works too.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I put the new front park brake cable in but something is missing and I can't remember what the part looks like or i routed it wrong. This is under the dash where it hooks up to the handle.
I also installed the flexplate I just got on the engine and mated the tranny up with it. It is just sitting on the floor waiting to get installed into the truck. Now I just have to get the truck home so i can do this.

Let me rephrase that. It is the part that holds the housing so you can put tention on the cable. It has been about 6 years since I took it apart. I can't remember what I did yesterday..

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Did some taping and sanding for some "pin-stripe" looks around the scallops.

Where it started (sorry, only straight on pic I have)

From front

A little closer

The gray primer - light blue paint - dark blue paint comes thru great.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Met up with my son who handed over some custom aluminum and brass punches he whittled up for me. Now I can get restarted on the windshield trim project. My old steel punches are too big and beat up for such delicate work, and the wood I have available doesn’t hold up long enough. I probably won’t have much need for the big ones on the left, but you never know:

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Finally got my hands on my new beauty rings. The guy was quite upset as he sells the center caps I want, but was out of stock, so I will get the center caps in a couple of weeks.

center caps are going to look like these, except 6 lug, unfortunately they will be plastic, but I understand that is all you can get unless you get the 4x4 ones, then you have two that say 4x4, and two that are open, and they are relatively big$$$

And what brand and size beauty rings are those? They really are beautiful! (No pun intended). I like how deep they look with the smooth corner. Early Vette rings like those have a hard corner. Yours look really custom.

Sadly the rings are offshore. They are stainless steel, and triple plated, box says they are good for 15x8, or 15x10 wheels (mine are 15x8), they are a 3" deep dish, I am so pleased with how the look. I thought they were a good deal @ 110.00 tax in, and I met the guy on his way to another show, which gave me an excuse to take my truck for an afternoon spin!
