Your box looks sweet! I say run with the gold! I love the gold in the trim on the 73-76 squares! Like you said, you can always undo it if you need to!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Sorry, after seeing it I still feel the same. Its your truck but the colors just don't fit the gold. As mentioned......I like the idea of doing somethind different. Matching the metallic gray color of the dropmember would be a subtle custom touch and look great with the blue. Could also put it in the emblems and I think the engine would lok great painted that color as well

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I want that POP/ that ZING / maybe the SHOCK effect of (EWWW, GOLD ????) ....i dont think that charcoal would do that, and as far as the motor goes it is pretty much set in stone (chevy orange and black) i think the orange and black will really light up the blue engine compartment !

I would leave the trim stock. Your truck will have plenty of "WOW" with out it.

Not a fan of the gold with the blue paint. What if u used the stock red bowtie emblem and paired that with red in the body moulding? Ive seen red from the factory...maybe for 67?

Instead of red bowties perhaps blue bowties? Then leave the trim black, or paint blue to match? And charcoal interior? Perhaps with blue accents?

Just tossin it out there.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

you know a bigger than life creditcard looking piece of mdf might make a nice fold out sign to put next to the truck on a show with the data of the truck and the thanks to xxx companies / persons embossed on it

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

you haven't lost us...and being different just might help you land that cover that you deserve IMHO....

That being said....(last comment on this from me )...I still think matching the frame accent metallic color would be one of those subtle custom touches that is still clean but isn't too over the top

I just can't see the gold carpet either man (that bothers me a lot more than the trim)....the colors of the truck are "cooler" hues and gold is always warm...so you're clashing on that (just being honest)

I'm sure the leather will look great with the blue because browns and blue compliment....and the gold accents will look fine against the leather...but your color blue and the gold just don't go together...

The reason the gold looks so good on the other truck is the brown and creamier lower trim...they are both warm hues...plus of course the rims are the same color...

you're taking billet and polished trim (cool again) and putting warm gold against it...

Like I said...it may end up catching someone's eye with the gold....but it also might put off someone enough to take your truck out of running for a cover and I would HATE for a little gold to be what keeps you from realizing your dream on this truck....

I think with your stance, quality work, custom touches, one of a kind 6 lug rims () and tubz/engine panels (and the story behind it (9yrs and grandpa involved)) will make it a show winner and magazine truck...

...the problem is if you add the gold it might be in lowrider instead of on the cover of custom classics or similar....

j/k on the last part...or am I....

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Noticed I've been quiet up till this point....lol.....If they are doing a mutiny on the gold....I'm in for a rough one later with mine!!.....I like the gold....1 thing I know you have thought of is.....U can leave the gold "decision" till the end....then run one side with gold tape....leave black on the other .....give it a few days to sink in......Make a decision......then finish which ever.....I think if interior turns out the way U want...molding and emblem decision will come quick............jim

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I to have been quite...I would also wait to see the difference between the black and gold once the truck is put back together with the completed interior. I like the gold but I really can not judge it fully just yet. I do not like how much the red stands out on the emblem so it will need some other color. The gold carpet has got me worried a little also. But I am still here to support you in what ever you decide. You have put a lot of thought into this build so far, I am not going to make my finally decision just yet.

I still like it. I think it works well. Compliments your body color well. Black would clash and look stock, which is fine, but this truck is far from it. My wife gives her stamp of approval, too, and she doesn't even like gold. Matter of fact, she would be straight up offended if I brought home gold jewelry

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Thank you everyone for all of the different , ideas , input, consideration ! Like I said before anything can be changed at any point when we are talking about stripes , carpet , seat upholstery I consider all of those to be pretty small aspects of the big picture ! Everything about my build has been trial and error so if I mess up and hate it I can redo it fairly easy , all of the big aspects of the build are right sheer I want them as in paint, wheels, engine compartment ....those are the things that are to big to change, all of this little stuff I can change if I get it together and don't like it ! Thank all of you for your support !
