Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I have not had to do that yet. I have had to deal with a Lab that rolled in Otter crap, and another lab that rolled in Mexican food Human crap she found out in the BLM. I vomited several times with that clean up. She came in the doggie door and jumped on my bed. Look what I found Dad!

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Closest I came was when my wolfdog killed a skunk one night in our back yard. Amazingly, he only had a very slight scent on him, not worth trying to clean him. Especially considering his attitude towards getting a bath. Tried that once when he was a youngster, and once was more than enough.

When Hot wheels came out I was 12-13. I only bought one because I had Matchboxes through my childhood and I thought the Hot Wheels were cool. I still have that one from the first year. I guess I devalued it by doing some detail painting, some black accents and painted the roll pans to match. Worn and dusty. The back panel I had painted flat black, the back of grille, and the hood louver/vents. Looks like a barn find now
I had that Mustang in red.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

good 'ol Fritz has put this to the test a few times in the past couple of years

has to be mixed fresh but works like a charm - pulls the stink right off!

it's the yard, house, garage, etc. that takes a week to completely stop smelling

Stink, stank, stunk – A remedy when a dog is skunked

Dish soap, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, which can be mixed to create an effective solution to neutralize skunk odor. If your dog gets sprayed by a skunk, mix a quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda and a teaspoon of liquid detergent and apply to the fur. The recipe was developed in the 1990s by a chemist, Paul Krebaum, but other chemists and biologists say it remains the most effective remedy out there.

no pics of his skunk baths, but he loves the shop vac

That brings back memories. My grandparents lived in Quincy. That is a very scenic (and very curvy) drive up highway 70.

Even though I've ridden much faster bikes (I worked for a motorcycle shop for 5 years in my early 20s) the funnest bikes I ever road were my Yamaha 2 stroke twins. I assembled my first RD400 from several boxes of parts. Afterwards I still had enough parts to assemble another engine. So then I found one with a blown up engine & then I had two. Then I picked up an RD350 that I fixed up & got running. Then I came across an RD60. Now that's just a single cylinder but had a six speed transmission. That made a neat little pit bike. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of any of them.

Oh they were. First or second gear you could launch the front tire as high as you wanted. Or flip it if you weren't careful. And they were so light & the Yamahas handled extremely well. You did need to install a steering damper & good tires that is it. You could turn in tighter than the bigger bikes and actually pass them on the inside. Of course they'd pull away at the next straight but it was all good fun. The absolute funnest thing on those was real tight first and second gear corners you could have the front wheel in the air while spinning & sliding the rear right at the limits of traction. Did I mention that you needed good tires?

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I had a 71 RD 200 that looked a lot like this one. Same color. I paid a whopping 90 bucks for it. It was a fun little bike and I wish that I still had it. And yes it was really easy to pop a wheelie.

I didn't take that pic. I have no pic's of my bike, but here's one that I did take. This is on the windshield of my CST and it looks like it's been there a long time.

There were 2 two stroke twins that as soon as you heard them coming you knew what they were. The Yamaha's and the old Bridgestone's sold by Monkey Wards. Both had sounds all their own.

Banshees definitely have a unique shreek to them when on the pipes. I've always had dirtbikes and quads but never had a Banshee. I have raced against them on several occasions in the Michigan sand over the years though.

For me, I like single cylinder big bore two strokes better. I didn't take the first pic but it's of me giving somebody the jump on an '86 CR500 running on alcohol with an extended swingarm and 12 cup paddle tire racing up the sand hill called bull gap in the 90's. I did just notice a Banshee in the background of that pic.

I still have the bike and take it to the dunes every now and then to have some fun.
