well this is as far as I got tonight

the best part even my wife loves this project, I think she said "parking in the garage is so overrated, especially in the winter" or something like that!!! as she photo bombed the scene of the crime

a whoda what? are you assuming I have a long bed or something? my truck is a short bed (about 79 1/2" long) and this thing is a short bed too, measures about 80 1/4" long

Standard lights. Kind of want to throw one on mine as well rather than the fleetside it's supposed to have. I just like the style.

I am leaning that way too, but it may be an "eventually" project, as I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

Nice try I almost fell for it, but there's no way I can fit it down your chimney! hee hee

and so I pressed on and had that thing in pieces in no time

took the driver wheel cover/fender off

removed the tailgate, removed the bolt on one side and the round spinny thingie and then it slid off to one side

took the "frontgate" off (I'm coining that term) sucker wouldn't slide all the way out (up or down) until I got one of the sides loose and moved out of the way

just like with the fleetside, you have to cut the welds in the lower corners of the tailgate in order to take the sides off

and got the driver side off too

and pretty soon it all looked like this

but because the wife don't like to park on the street, it had to look like this

I also took a stab at the scratch on that fender, and since I don't own a dolly set yet, this is the best I could do for now

I am seriously wondering if bondo was on sale when they built / painted this thing in the first place, I considered using a hammer and a chisel to get it all off, ha ha

pretty sure I am going to weld in those rectangular holes (they seem to be in a level / flat section and should be pretty easy to patch) and go back to stock taillights

I knew someone would recognize it and tell us what it is off of. It belongs to Big Al and I think its glory days are over and it found new life as a sort of make shift wheel barrel cart. But thanks again for identifying it, boxing it in would be a fun winter project, then maybe a flatty, hmm coupe or truck, now you got me thinking, so glad this aint no Ford forum or I would be in trouble, ha ha
