Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I needed a heater/defrost distributer and controls so I hit the Pull-A-Part Salvage lot this morning. They had one 65 on the lot.

Lucky for me they had all the parts I needed and a couple more. I scored the heater distributer, heater control dash unit, cables, and wiring harness. Also got the original mirror and horn/horn relay just for the hell of it.

In total they charged me 8 bucks.

In cleaning the distributer box I found a bunch of crap but found an old pencil in there that read, "Get Acquainted with a STANLEY HOSTESS PARTY". Back side said Syracuse, NY.

I've got some cleaning/de-rusting/painting to do!

Took the frame of my 65 SWB to powder coat after installing all the Porter Built crossmembers and c-notch kit. I hate rivets! Should have the frame back in a week!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

picked up the dual bowl MC for my conversion. Gonna wait until I pull the engine to get the lines and fittings, then, install them and remove the whole setup before pulling the cab.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got the '70 Chevelle Rear Springs installed. In Lieu of a BFH I used a Friend's Snap-On 1/2" Electric Impact on the bottom bolts and a cheater pipe on the top bolts, prior to doing this job I sandblasted the exposed threads and soaked everything in penetrating oil. I also re-installed the axles and brake drums after getting them re-drilled for 5 Lugs.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got the 87 front axle refurbished, all new disk brake componets, new bushings. Got it installed into my 63 4x4 Burb. Still need Warn hubs and bearings.

Got the seats out, the trash, a lot of trash, vacumed out. Pressure washed the interior and the exterior.

Lots of pics here;

That looks so awesome... I want to copy that idea, do you mind??? I would make it a different design, but I absolutely love the barn board, and the 66 plate!!! Outstanding. I have a 66 plate on a bulkhead in my basement bar, and know where I can get more.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Installed Warn unlock hubs. Dropped the gas tank and took it to a radiator shop to be pressure tested, if it passes they'll boil it out. If not, I'll have to buy a new 1.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Installed new gas lines from the tank area to the engine. Took off the inner door panels, cleaned and greased the mechanisms. The windows ride and the doors unlatch much better.

Put in a new Optima battery.

Here is a couple pics from when we were working on the front end;

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Not that is is like a major modification like most of you guys, but I had these magnetic signs and vinyl banners made up to promote my blog. I figured I could use the magnets at car shows or whatever, and I was thinking about entering the local parade next month and using the banners. I guess I could also hang them on a fence if that opportunity came up. Anway, no biggie, but I thought they turned out kinda neat ...
