That burnt orange or copper color is just beautiful, so nice in that light.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Swapped the 64 grille for a 61 dual headlight grille.

Installed an electric fan

Installed a set of 05 Tahoe bucket seats

Tomorrow I am going to see if it starts and if it does, I am hoping it doesn't have any leaks and it actually runs.

Cleaned oil pan after flushing and pump screen... a lot of sludge.. might have to do that again in the next few weeks. wired gauges. few more hours and she is road worthy..
Noticed she had a high hump.. which i need for my 66 8) made my day.

Just made the credit card scream and ordered 16 pieces of sheet metal for the body repairs. So....if anybody needs me over the next two weeks- look for the welding glow.....

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I worked on lining the door back up to the door latch after replacing the door pins and bushings last weekend.

I think it is close, it may need a little more tweaking.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Flipped a coin to see which one I would work on today. It landed on tails so it was the barn find project. Started by cleaning up the engine and start working on a breaking the engine loose.. I found an old points and rotor still in the package while I was going through this thing.

One question is the rubber floor mats appear to be original and in great shape. But there is a thin foam sheet under it. It is formed to the floor pan and it appears to be factory. It has holes in the right places. So is that factory?

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Troubleshooting a bad miss since my drive back from the Brothers Truck show last weekend. Ran a compression test and all the cylinders were within 10 psi (155-165). Since I had no idea how old the cap, rotor and plug wires were, I replaced them and the spark plugs as well. From what I can tell, seems to have solved the problem. Running like it was before the miss started. Yea!!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Oh besides getting diff parts ordered I made a deal for the engine I am building for my buddy's 56 Gm to trade even for a Copper paint job with ghost flames on my 71. Since all my body metal is new and straight it a good trade for both, won't be soon but will be goodbye to Satin black and flames.
