Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I use a belt sander with great results. Just takes a magic touch

Yup, a belt sander will do the trick. I don't have that touch.

That is very true. Must have been a regional promotion or a dealer's own "conversion"

Wife and I went up to look at some property in the other Larry’s part of the state today and got caught in a traffic jam. Many folks don’t know we have a pretty good elk herd in Arkansas.

Put a rabbet cut on the shelf backer and started on the shelving for the kitchen . I also bought two palm routers I went for a couple of new bits . But $37 on clearance from $139 I had to . Not sure why lowes clearanced the newer model . I bought the last two they had in the store

My Bosch is a little older. It's a really handy little tool. So easy to handle. I did have it mess me up once but not stay set for depth. The lever spins to tighten once released and it just wasn't tight enough to hold. That's one thing the plunge router will never do

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Watched 4 guys install my 24x41x11 truckport. Took them roughly 6 hours start to finish. Wish I would have went another foot wider but it works. Now all of my trucks are under cover and I don't have to park any in the main shop area any longer. Time to get the blazer spread out again so I can get the metal work finished up

New Frued forstner bits came in yesterday. Used them today wish I hadn’t waited so long to buy a real quality set . Used the 2 inch bit today on the drill press at 900 rpm cut the hard maple like it was butter. Making a spice rack

Plumbers use those also to drill studs, I'm sure those are a higher quality but same principal.

Tim I considered that several times but this deal, installed was only $6500. I don't think I could have done a roof for that, not having to pay someone labor as well. The other being I can easily move this if needed.

I was using a set from Lowe’s I believe it’s porter cable . They work but like you said they are more for rough work than making items .

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Found out my 3-4 year old Moen faucet in my kitchen sink has been leaking into the cabinet. Full of water. Had to rip the top veneer layer off the wood. Ordered a new faucet. F**k Moen.

Ordered this beauty from Pfister. The nice part is it assembles and installs from the top side of the sink.

Those are nice. I put one in the kitchen many years ago after replacing the whole cabinet floor. There is a mat on top of that like Weatherguard mats for a car, with curled up edges to catch any water (slow leaks). Guess I'll go and check all my cabinet supplies for seepage today.

Yes I saw an installation video which mentioned that and said about using plumbers putty, which I do have.

I never expected the Moen to be leaking like that. Fool me once.....

And all this after just fixing a leaking toilet that I didn't know was leaking on the bathroom floor. Where is my facepalm emoji? Haha

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I got the rainy day discount and bought this little 1959 VW cheap for parts. It runs and drives surprisingly very well. Click the key and it fires right up. It's a lot of fun to drive and is registered until 2025. I almost hate to part it out but my orange bug could use the motor and trans. I have a set of rims and tires and could scratch up some rear fenders and a tarp...Hmmm.

I understand the feeling. I have definitely bought parts vehicles that I ended up putting back on the road instead. The first one was my third car a 71 Cutlass Supreme with 160k miles. Saved it from the junkyard by paying a $50 tow bill in exchange for the title. Had a lot of fun with that car. Got in a lot of trouble as well. Ended up selling it to my brother who put an additional 160k miles on it.

That blows major chunks! What is needed is a faucet that lasts 30-40 years like the one I replaced last year. A pan or mat is a futile effort. It would just fill up and let water under it. I painted the insides of all my cabinets with bright white high gloss enamel to brighten them up and clean up easily. That really saved the bottom under the sink when my faucet gave up the ghost. I noticed the floor was wet in front of the cabinet. The hose was leaking at the weight. The faucet head doubled as the sprayer

That think looks like more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Homemade boony basher. I'd rebuild the green one's engine if it were me. I was rebuilding VW engines in high school. You can do it!

The motor isn't for the green one, it's for the orange one (remember that one). The motor in the green one runs just fine.

Yes that is how mine is. The whole head pulls out. The base swivels and has been very tight to turn so not sure what's going on in there. Not to mention within the first year of installing it the flip up handle would constantly fall back down thereby shutting off the water. I constantly have to take the handle off and tighten the cartridge. I was planning on replacing this junk anyway but really didn't want to deal with the leaking mess.

This is what I have now.
