Original ride height and bare skinny white or black steelies would go a long way on this truck. And a spare on the side, of course...
EDIT: Oh, and that rear bumper! AWESOME

Jocko, I'm not up to date on selling strategies but why would this truck have 2 different license plates front and back and some weird VIN? Otherwise definitely an interesting truck. -BA

My only guess is that the owner's property straddled that state line.
EDIT: oh wait! It's the same state! Hmm...

OK, JUST kidding... Ha. Good catch, and I have no idea. VIN likely a state-issued one.

I put my 2 remaining brain cells together this morning after coffee and I think he just doesn't know how to edit pictures and he didn't want the license number visible so he just grabbed two available junk plates and stuck them on there for the photo. Maybe same for the Vin too, just made up.

Really interesting truck. Wouldn't look right tooling around L.A. though, it needs to be in the great outdoors IMO.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Does anyone know where I can get those 6 lug wheels in post 6485. I like the rally wheels with what I assume is a modern GMC hubcap. It looks really good and I've been putting off doing a 5 lug conversion just for wheels.

As the owner of a repro tach I recognize that as one. The non-faded red center is the giveaway to me. If I’m wrong, flame away...

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Would be nice if the seller’s took pictures of the SPID— they rarely do so on CL or even eBay for that matter.

both - I assume dependent on how far along it was thru the model year -or- perhaps a plant-specific thing? but most 70's I've seen said 400 like the 71-72s. here's one of each for ya

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I think you will find more 400 SPIDs than 396, at least based on the SPIDs posted here and elsewhere--not sure why.
