Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5

Man, its been a long time since my last post. Since my last update, I've completely redid the bed frame. I had to some clearance issues, so I rebuilt it out of 1x2 steel tubing instead of the 1x1 I started with. Probably overkill, but nice peace of mind.

The whole bed is shimmed 1/8th inch, so when its time to do final alignment, I can go up or down with it.

Here is an overall shot and another of the front bed mounts. It has size mounting points. Two in front, two off the step notch, and two in the rear.

This shot shows where I tied the front bed mount into the frame with a reinforcement that ties the upper and lower rail together.

Here is the mount that attaches to the step notch

And here is one of the rear attachment points. These will all be bolted to the frame after I weld threaded bungs in my pretty powder coated frame!

Re: Project: Bad Bagged '68.5

On to the bumper install, with four custom bumper brackets of course. I made the mounting points out of plate steel connected by some DOM tubbing I had laying around.

This shot shows the outer bumper bracket and you can also see an attachment point to the bed side.

And this is one of the inner bumper brackets. Sorry for all the clamps in the way.

And the rear view. Bumper is nice and snug up to the bedsides.
