Re: Trucks in the Wild

Saw this nice 67 at the Rebuilding Center. A very nice lady owns "Buttercup' which is a 47000 mile truck she purchased several years ago from the original owner. Well optioned Custom with dealer AC, power brakes and power steering. The box is pristine as it had a camper in the back of it for more than 40 years. I wish I could have gotten more pictures but the phone died after just one.

Re: Trucks in the Wild

Another well optioned truck I ran into at the Rebuilding center. AC truck with tilt.

And I saw this Burban down in inner SE on Weidler. I have seen him several times in the past but I never have been able to talk to him. I believe it is his daily driver.

And the K model was headed north on I-5. It has a bunch of new aftermarket suspension parts on it and sounded healthy.

Re: Trucks in the Wild

And this one back in August. A really nice looking truck having some difficulty. I saw it and went back around and got this photo and pulled over to see if I could help but no one was around.

The question I am posing is. Should one post a picture here of a nice truck that has failed mid-trip?

I think you stopping to check was a nice thing. I see nothing wrong with the picture, maybe the old truck was just taking a break!

Ah, the truck rich Tri-State area of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. I've bought quite a few from those States over the years and anyone looking for a truck would be wise to pursue one in that area as there are still tons in various conditions and for the most part reasonably priced.

Re: Trucks in the Wild

I've made several business trips through a small town here in Colorado over the past year and every trip I didn't have time to stop at this junkyard. I could tell by the size and from the road that it had some classics, but today I finally had time and thoroughly enjoyed walking around. I took pictures of the 67-72's (not very many), but there might have been a few hiding in other areas. I could have walked around for hours, but had to get back to the office.

Also saw a Jimmy sitting at a house in another small town.

If I wasn't so consumed in my 68, I would buy one of them. It's a pretty remote area so they don't get a lot of traffic. I was kind of looking for a shortbed, but they didn't have any.

Re: Trucks in the Wild

Saw a 4fer the other day! (See GMC on left behind the brand X truck) Do to their close proximity they might be owned by the same person. I know that sounds strange but, I've heard that it actually happens.

I saw this Custom Camper Cheyenne in what looks to be silver yesterday. I may have to stop and take a closer look at some point. (When the fence is open! )

If it is original silver then you have spotted a relatively rare color. Good job!

The green color would just be the normal NW Oregon moss layer.
