You might just need a linkage kit to tighten up your gear shifter.
its straight but it has rust on the lower rear of the cab on the drivers side, both lower corners of the fenders are toast also, patch panels are on the way... I also ordered a new shifter from mr gasket, since i couldnt find any install kits for my truck if i bought a b&m mastershift... i inspected the shifter and i think its whats faulty, since it slops around too much, the shifter itself will fall into any position once i get the linkages in the right gear.. Im also perplexed about what kind of engine tranny i have since it seems like i have a mid 70s early 80s 305 v8 in it.. I think its the original tranny.. is the shift pattern

Can you see any numbers on the engine? That way someone can look them up and tell you what you have. The trans, if you cant see any numbers, the trans oil pan shape will tell you what you have.

Oh and if anyone needs a bed I have the two sides and the front portion (no tailgate) laying around.... so let me know! Theyre in so so shape will need some rust fixing, but are pretty straight and solid.. perfect if youre slamming the truck and cutting the wheelwells....

Re: SoCal checkin' in

Do you know what stock trannies came with these cars? Or what the oil pans are supposed to be like? I found a link on identifiying the 305, but no luck on tranny id's.

Here's something to do between now and the CPP Cruise in SoCal.
Let's meet up, eat up, maybe discuss the CPP Cruise (convoys), trade/sell/buy parts etc. and have a good time!

This is so cool... I just stumbled onto this page and I feel like I've been missing out! If I get my trans back from Monster I am in! I have some parts that I've been meaning to get rid of too!

As a father of 4, I definitely understand, I just regret not getting a pic of you guys, your truck and the engine bay.
Thanx for the wheel and drop advice.

Re: SoCal checkin' in

Hey guys,

I would like to have another meet on the last week of May.
How does this sound to everyone?

Is there anything else going on that weekend in May, truck-wise?

Is there any preference between Friday nights, Saturday afternoons, Saturday nights, or Sunday afternoons?

I like Sunday at noon, so I could use Friday and Saturday to get my truck ready and the guys driving a long way aren't headed back home too late.

Let me know.

Dano

Isn't that the Memorial Day weekend? You may want to choose the weekend before.

You're right, the weekend before would probably be a better bet.
