Re: project (sweet pea)
Yeah, the scale to me looks so much better on a long bed. I have the 69 short and honestly neither I or my wife like the way it looks compared to my 70 longbed...even though cosmetically the 70 is 5 colors and the 69 is stock w/ a nice patina. Just nothin like a nice longbed.

Re: project (sweet pea)
ME too.....and thanks....I just got back from round two of blocking.....didnt think to take the camera.....There was a few areas that i was concerned about....Tops of both fenders and where i busted through on the drivers side( where i shaved the lock cylinders). Would have probably been OK ,But i want this thing straight.....So i asked the painters to put a coat of primer on those areas yesterday....Seemed to block out just fine.....Saturday i hope to get started on the bed and get it knocked out....I know it seems like i am slacking on this or draggin ass .I just want it right.....No sense in doing it half assed ....If there is any imperfections,it will drive me freaking crazy,So i do not want to Re-Paint it after i get it painted.....That make sense...Lol

Re: project (sweet pea)
I'm with you on wanting it right. You'll never be happy with it if you skimp on it and you'll end up re-doing it from the sound of things. I'm sure it's going to look absolutely awesome when it's done and be WELL worth the few extra days of time.

Re: project (sweet pea)
Well what seemed like a morning that would never end, ended......A long day of blocking again....First off there was the spots i addressed last week on the cab....Its finally all done....3 rounds of blocking on the cab....It better be straight..lol....It felt awesome......There is not one area i feel needs extra work,or seems as if it would be just ok....IMO its perfect....The paint does not lie....So we will see....But i am fully confident that it will be perfect or i would not proceed...On to the bed.....I original did this bed 2/3 years ago....It was a piece...Tons of dents...Hacked out body work( tree fell on the driver side bedside) and about 4 thick coats of paint....But it was rust free and the price was right....( i did a all over job for the bed)....Anyways at the time i fixed it, i had no intentions of doing a frame off Rodstoration ...The plan was just to get all the dents pulled, and shoot it red....Well it turned into shaving the stake pockets, shaving the gate, and molding in the roll pan....Anyways before i type 1,000 pages off stuff you dont want to read....I decided to do a frame off and .....it basically was on the truck for about 6mos....And the i tore the truck down....So onto today.....It was GREAT having some help on such a large area to block...Or areas...My little buddy (andy) showed up as he is known to do.Eager to help..And Stan (the painter) showed up shortly after 7 to get crackin....it was awesome having so much talent and experience around me....These dudes are good....And make me feel like i am learning the trade all over again..Anyways after 5 hours we got it blocked...First round we blocked with 150. just to knock it down some.fix any areas we seen (there was several small dents...I am guessing from being on a stand and moved around so much...)..Round two was 220, It feels great....Plans are to wipe it down real good Monday morning. Hit it with a few good coats of Primer....And do another Round of blocking with 320-400......If all goes as planned there should be some color on it next weekend.....So wish me luck.....Pics are coming...

Re: project (sweet pea)
Could you please teach Stan or Andy how to use your camera? So far all I see is all talk and no go from the pictures. What kind of chair do you supervise from or are you the coffee getter
But seriously , check out my brothers site and look at the 1931 rat rod he just got done painting. He doesn't know it but I pretty sure him and his boys are going to paint mine , nothing crazy like that ,just air brushed pics of me, me, me, me all over it. Henleyskustom paint. I would guess 4 or 5 grand to get it... dunno , we'll see.
