Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
My wife says you have a cute ass. So this gin pole set-up is for lifting stuff on the farm? Once you have it lifted, can it be loaded on the truck bed? Sorry I'm not a rancher or farmer or have never lived in Texas.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
Pretty much a portable lift, you can load to the bed but may have to get creative depending on size/weight.

It looks sweet! Heirs and everything! Maybe the asses can be the iowa for the gin lift.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
Nice work. That lift will deffinately come in handy. How's the cab coming along?
For what it's worth I vote no caps. That's how I run my 19.5's on my 05 ram with dynatrack hub conversion. Makes for quick switches in the snow and ice. Lol. I'm sure cold weather convenience is top of your list. Ha. Does the rock buggy in the background have a thread anywhere ? Keep up the great work

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
The cab is slowly getting done...still working on pass door.
I've had the jeep for 20 or so years, built and rebuilt it a few times but never have done a build thread on it anywhere. You'll see it in the background here and there...had it in the main shop to switch the front coils out to struts, but it's done so back into storage!

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
Thanks S3500HD!
We pulled the front/rear glass and stuck the cab back on the chassis one last time (hopefully) to check fit on a few things and try to get door/hood/fender gaps lined out a bit better...

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
Thanks Kim, we're trying!
Thanks. The front bumper is the stock bumper...turned upside down with a 2" strip added to the resulting gap on top.

You guys are doing some real neat stuff to the truck.
The frame is going to be stout and really cool looking. Kim |

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
Looks really good. Dumb question here...are the holes just to follow the theme of the build or will they serve some other purpose? Either way it looks very stout!

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
really great work, I got a question do you plan on running the brake lines, wiring and air lines through the frame ? if so you might want to consider getting the hard lines in place first. keep up the good work, its gonna be cool. Coop

Thanks DW!! Thanks Coop, we will run all the lines/wiring externally on the frame. I like visibility/access if there are any issues and wouldn't trust pre-ran lines/wiring subjected to the heat of the welding we're doing.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project
So, a bit of hole sawing (actually burned up one drill, had to go get another!), a bit of welding, a bit of smoothing, and the passenger side is done!

All of your guy's trucks are amazing. This and the Suburban are my favorite. I love the speed holes in the frame.
