Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

This will be the last portion of the updates for awhile as stated earlier...

Pic #1. A shot of the spacer/trim ring installed.

Pic #2. Another shot to give you a better idea what it was needed for.

Although I did not take pics of the wheel being painted and detailed (DUH) here is what it turned out like.
Pic #3. The back of wheel has stainless button head cap screws installed.

Pic #4. Front view with center cap installed..

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Ok, this is off topic but I wanted to share a small project I did for myself.
I was running into a small problem with my welding units. I had both Mig and Tig on the same cart. I found that if I was welding with Mig on one thing and then needed to Tig something else I was having to pack things up then move to the other side of shop, unpack etc....
So starting with a small hand cart we had at the shop I started to modify it to fit my needs and this was the outcome. (sorry no pics of building it)
Pic #1. after I built cart and skinned it with 16g (had alot ava.) and welded to sides etc. and shot with hammered silver.

Pic #2. 2nd view. (at this point I hated the way it was looking)

Pic #3. So I decided to repaint it with (96 corvette grand sport blue) since I had some left over from a previous job.

Pic #4. 2nd view.

Pic #5 This was after it was put back together.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Pic #1. The finished cart all assembled.

Pic #2. The inside is fairly simple, welder, torch parts, tungsten, cables etc.

Pic #3. The fist shot of the back of cart shows a chain holding the bottle. This was a small issue so I took a bungie cord and shortened it to hold bottle nice and tight.

I've got a old wagon that I put my little compressor on to wheel it around. It works great.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Awesome project Mark... incredible fabrication skills you have been given! The dash is simply an amazing creation.... and the way you have brought the center console, door panels and even the rear cab panel all together its just really beyond words.... love it all!

my .02$
I think the dash top in the clear metal looks great and the rolled bottom too, but maybe fill in the center strip with something other than metallic look.... ? maybe some contrasting color from the outside finish or the seat color.... just an idea.

again... great work!

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

PTC Thank's for checking out the Build...

As for your idea, I will be making door panels that will be the same color as seats (thinking distressed leather look) So the Headliner, door panels and seats will be all tied together for that contrast. And break up the "All Metal look"
Thank's for the comments.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Hey Guy's, So Monday me and a good friend went
to a salvage yard looking around (Cottington's Salvage) in Cabool Mo. This place is pretty amazing nothing but vintage iron!!
Any way I took some pics throughout the day of some pretty killer vehicles.
Pic #1. I think was a 58-59 Ford 2 door wagon

Pic #2. Is a Olds wagon

Pics 3,4 and 5 are just crazy shots of how long these cars etc have been here. Dad (Oldman3) has been to this yard numerous times throughout the years.
I did find some 55 Cadillac Dagmars for Orangepeel.

Cool shots. Yards like that are getting really rare and I don't know of any around me. Thanks for sharing this one Mark.
