Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Yeah, I wish! Copper is still in one peice unfortunately. I still got the bed full of all my junk too. I am actually feeling better, back to about normal. Got a few things done while I was off work for a couple weeks. Got the corners and roof of the garage insulated with that great stuff spray foam insulation. Went to my moms and got the rest of my crap out of the barn. And got new locks on and got the latches moved to the inside of the garage door so someone can't just cut my locks and take everything I got! Been doing projects around the house too. Gotta keep the wife happy!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Alright guys, its been a while. Been kinda lazy, but I'm getting the itch back. I've been thinking a lot of the direction and colors, and pretty much almost every detail. Don't worry I'm gonna get to it soon!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Sorry guys haven't lost interest, just money's real tight and haven't had much time working too much. Work's just starting to slow a little so I guess there's no reason I couldn't start tearing ole Copper apart. guess I'm just afraid I'll never see it together again. Also if this "honey do list" could ever disappear maybe I could get something else done!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Just read all of this. Some cool info on this thread. I see you work at TMMK. I'm at TMMC up in Canada. 24 years now. Got a Tundra parked beside my 72 Blazer. Love them both. Good luck moving forward on your truck.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Anyone out there? Got some stuff at harbor freight to help with the build. Cherry Picker, MIG welder, Shop Press, and a few other odds and ends. Been doing some more to the garage and my 02 Silverado. Getting real close to start tearing him down. Will definitely happen this year.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Sounds good man. I'm sure I could use a hand sometime especially with the big stuff like bed removal and such. You'll have to stop by one weekend and check it out.

Well, p still, no work to Copper, but adding to the garage. Welder, shop press, engine hoist, engine stand, mechanics seat, jack stands, and more. Harbor Freight had some stuff on sale.
Had the Prius loaded down. Lol.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Just spent good portion of my work day reading through your build thread Looks good so far. Any more updates?
I'm with you as far as organizing the garage. I've purchased more and rearranged the garage more times in the last year than I ever would have imagined. HF is also a very addicting store. Looking forward to seeing the progress.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Thanks man. No progress as of yet. Just bought her a 83 Z28 camaro.
That crowded the garage with all the mowing equip until our storage building comes in that we ordered. Next step is remove the doghouse and pull the engine and tyranny.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Really seems like my thread is dead, but I have been busy with my wife's Camaro so not like I've not been doing anything. It's getting a full interior makeover. I have been ordering some parts. Got my offenhauser valve cover and matching finned side plates from tom at 12bolt.com. Also a billet carrier bearing and original 67 bowtie seatbelts. The pile continues to grow. Wish I had more time to work on it and the weather was nicer right now.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
The last pics were of last night 7/14/15 and these are from tonight the 15th. Got the engine up on the stand mounted securely and cleaned up all the mess of oil dry from where transmission fluid and coolant went everywhere. Next will be to take the transmission to the shop for an overhaul and to teardown the engine and take to the machine shop. Hopefully while that's being done I can work on taking the cab apart and removing it and the bed.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
I was wondering when you would start back up. Now you have giving me a reason to pull OL Blue out from under the dust its collected the past 2.5 years. That and my son is turning 15 and has laid claim to the truck. I will be starting back soon too. Going to pick up an auto tranny in the morning.
Now that you've had all this time to plan your build out how about giving some details of what we have to look forward to.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Glad to see that I've inspired someone!
I guess plans haven't differed too much from my original plans. Burnt orange/copper in color with the white top and the wheels u see. Not going to go crazy low just drop spindles in front and 3 or 4 in back. Want to keep a lil rake to it. And the inline and th350 going to get rebuilt with some upgrades for a little more fun factor. Still working out details but u probably get the idea. By the way. Forgot to mention before tearing Copper apart I got curious. Even thought the trans was leaking like crazy and it'd been sitting for almost 3 years. I hooked my jumper box to him and after a couple cranks he fired right up! I have a short video but don't know how to post it.
