That isn't bad. I wonder how they would look with a 2/4 drop?

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Coys and TT II's have different size caps, The Coys are larger.
I see some body work on a couple of spokes in the near future.

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Stay tuned!
Thanks-hope they turn out as envisioned Thanks! Need some time off work so I can play Maybe it was the originals that would fit, I thought I read somewhere. Oh well, everything you read on the internet is true, right? These were even smaller, at 2" bolt circle- I like the look. And yes, maybe just a little work on a few spokes...

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
That was the plan- now, how to make them look like cast magnesium...

Hey, Nice score getting the new wheels! Those are sweet! Sounds like a great price too. Is that including shipping?

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Plus ship, I have just over 8 in them, but there were no comparisons (in 20") for the price. Coy's have gone WAY up since I last bought them- not to mention air-body an' they mama 's got 'em now. I saw exactly zero cars on Streeters at GoodGuys- dunno if that's a good or a bad thing- at least I'll be unique!

I thought about doing that, but am gonna use something a little more durable and without metallic flakes. I also have another layer of depth to add before color...

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Yes, I used 2-part 'kitty hair' to fill, after removing paint and heavy scuffing for some 'tooth'. Added a layer of gold body filler to smooth, followed by filler primer and finishing primer. Was going to use Lab Metal, but didn't wanna deal with the mess. Next step is to make them look more like sand cast wheels- I'm hoping the method I have in mind will produce the effect I'm after...

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
would sand blasting with a real heavy grain sand, give you the cast look ?

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Prob would, but it might also remove the 'repair' work too. It might be tough to get the same texture evenly....

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10
Thought about having them blasted, and all-metal was one of the ideas. I'm gonna try to spray the texture on- we'll see how it goes...
