Re: Project truck dream 65"
Assembled the new Hella 4 E-Codes tonight. They come with a 60w-55w bulb which combined with the housing and the way it's designed should increase the candle output by almost 50% over original.(So I've been told)
Put the headlights into the buckets and mount.Replaced the screws, nuts and springs as well. Everything seems to fit pretty good for the upgrade. I did see in a post some time back that the rubber cover at the back has a tendancy to push the plug off ,so just to trim it back around the prongs.Ill do that later on and post a pic.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
I decided to go with .035 wall stainless for brake and fuel lines. At this stage of the game.., why cheap out.
I will be using AN fittings with a 37 degree flare as anyone who has tried knows a 45 degree dual flare on stainless is near impossible to achieve. I picked up the lines yesterday after work, and was able to bring the brake line at 20 foot long home without cutting it down. Almost 8 feet lancing out the passenger window...,good thing no cops were around. Today I spent the morning polishing it all . So after work next week, this will all get plumbed in with hopes of installing the engine and trans a week or two after.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
I also got my brake and fuel lines in those lengths, and it is nice knowing that I didnt have to patch a bunch of shorter lines together to get from the front of the frame to the rear.
I was nervous about flaring my own ends, but am happy to report they have been connected and filled almost 6 months now without any signs of leakage. Next will be to check them after they have been run with pressure... Looking forward to seeing your work on this, I am sure you have something really nice in store !! I love your work, you inspire me often

Re: Project truck dream 65"
Great work, man. I always look forward to your updates. I have been working on my brake lines and I'm hoping to do my fuel line real soon so I have a particular interest in what you've got going on. The small details make all the difference.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
Well today was a good day to put my grill back together. I took my time and made sure I did not scratch anything.
I also decided to rebuild my original vent windows. I sold the chrome ones as I just didn't want to use the repop junk. I was able to save my vent rubber as I don't think the new ones fit properly. Hopefully I can get them back in without wrecking them,as anything I found just dosen't match up to the old ones. I spent a few hours cleaning the frames up before sending them off to the powder coater's.

Re: Project truck dream 65"
More plumbing today, have most of it done thanks to my bud. I'm pretty happy with the end result here, lines are consistent and uniform with the master and booster.
That took all day, but wow what a great finish !
