Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
OK fellas, my lovely wife decided we needed to work on the truck after our little one went to bed so off we went. (luckiest man in the world by the way!)
Broke out the engine hoist and a large ratchet strap and got the bed put back on. I dont remember it sitting this high in the rear so I will see how it settles after it's all done and adjust from there. Wish I had bought those adjustable drop shackles from Bigarmzz now! ![]()

Oh, I totally understand....it was 106 actual temps up here today too...helped move some furniture in the morning then hooked up a countertop and kitchen sink for work....and stayed in the A/C the entire rest of the day.....

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Went out this morning and got the retaining straps for the driveshaft and got them installed. Bolted the bed down for the last time, installed steering shaft, trans shifter linkage, A/C compressor, battery cables, and a couple other loose odds and ends. Also took a couple better pics with natural lighting.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
...yes these TX summers have me thinking my dream shop (we're looking to sell our home and move to the country before long) needs to have its own HVAC...just so IT can become the man cave.
I'm thinking a small 300-350sq ft. apt. in a corner might not be a bad idea...that way if she gets mad at me and says something to the effect of "and don't even bother trying to come to bed tonight"... I'll already have a backup plan. ![]()

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Sounds like a good plan. I am hoping to finish our refinance soon and start plans for a shop at home. I am thinking maybe a 24' x 30' with 16 foot ceilings so I can put a lift in there and get some more side work going again. Gotta finance these trucks somehow...

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Saweet!!! It's looking like a truck again!
Now, hit Craigslist or go to Sears and buy 1 or 2 110v window AC units. I have 1 in mine (mounted in the wall thought), and along with a couple of fans, it's veeery comfy in there, even on the hottest days, and my shop is 1200 sq/ft. I'm on the lookout for a couple more though. Can never have it too cool! I found mine at Sears, it was the largest 110v unit they had at the time, and it was a "last years model", so I got it for $100!

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
I have one in my shop. It's nice until you open the doors. Then it takes a while to cool off again. Nice progress Josh. It will be together in no time.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Very nice! and yes this heat has been killer on me too! I'm liking the sound of window units in my shop. I have three windows so, I should be able to get it pretty cool in there. Have to watch out for the post season clearance sales.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Hoping for some progress today. I have my brother and a buddy of ours coming over to get at it today. Going to attempt to get the truck wired, install some Wilwood D52 calipers on my brothers Nova and maybe hear the truck run for the first time in 8 months! Updates later.
