Still working to make the pictures better, but I guess sidewaysw pictures are better than no pictures.

Re: Left for dead: 72 2wd blazer build

I assume you are taking pictures/ uploading them with your cellular telephone? If so, try turning the phone sideways and taking the pictures in landscape instead of portrait. I have had better luck with them uploading straight that way.

But the Blazer looks good, even sideways

Litebulblsc, Yes sir. You are 100% correct. These are cell phone pics taken with the phone upright. I will take the pictures sideways going forward. Thanks for letting me know.

Re: Left for dead: 72 2wd blazer build

Just got back from a parade in town with my boys. Cool front blew through last night making perfect Blazer weather for the weekend. Time to rack up some miles!

Re: Left for dead: 72 2wd blazer build

Here are a few current pictures of the Blazer that are not sideways! So I still have a few things to do before I can consider it finished. I have all of the A/C components either new or restored, I just have to install everything. I also need to finish the top and install it, although my wife asks "Why does it need a top?" Good question! Finally I also want to install a tasteful stereo system. Outside of those few things it's now officially a fair weather cruiser!

Re: Left for dead: 72 2wd blazer build

Jaros44sr, Thanks! I'm happy with the way it came out, but it will probably be the one and only Blazer I ever restore. It was so much more involved than what a truck would have been.

Maybe just buy a less rusty truck, wish I would've taken my own advice LOL

Re: Left for dead: 72 2wd blazer build

Jaros44sr, Lol!! Believe it or not that's what I did! I had an orange 4wd 72 that I got rid of because it was too rusty. A few months later I ended up getting this. I just meant that there are so many more parts to a Blazer versus a truck. That and it cost a small fortune to acquire all of the missing Blazer specific parts.

I must have bought mine with my eyes closed, guess I was to excited to have a jimmy, condition didn't matter, 900.00 bucks 20 years ago, didn't buy much.

I was very impressed how you were able to graft all the different pcs. together, mine was luckily mostly patch panels( repop), altough later on I would like to come back and put a full floor in it, that is after I get all the current systems functioning as they should. Today was typical 2 steps 3 steps back, as I taking things apart that was already assembled. Like the alt. mount

Re: Left for dead: 72 2wd blazer build

I hear you Jaros! Back then $900 might not have bought much but it won't get you ANYTHING today! Its funny now that the Blazer is done people ask how much I paid for it? I tell them $1,000. Which is technically true. As for grafting panels together I spend a lot of time looking at everything thinking of where the best place is to make my cuts. I prefer used OEM panels when I can find them, but repops are fine if you don't mind massaging them. I definitely feel your pain on the 2 steps forward and 3 steps back days!!
