Just my opinion... I think a Grandson that feels sentimental about his Grandpa's truck might want to give it a little TLC. Patina is cool, but it seems like the rust is getting pretty heavy.

It COULD be saved but I doubt he will put any money in it other than to keep it running. I'm not judging here. When he opened the door I stepped back because I wasn't sure if it was gonna fall off the hinges. Serious hinge sag. Still, a pretty nice truck considering it's not modified.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

I ran into an old friend that I haven't seen in about twenty years at a local car show this weekend. This is the '63 that he built for his Father.

Spotted this one today, just sitting in the middle of a scrap metal yard waiting for some kind soul to rescue it.

Sitting in Kingman, AZ at the KAR yard.....just in case someone is interested.

1st hood I have seen that said Apache 40 on the side of it.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

Am gonna pass this along instead of sitting on it. At Mike's Auto salvage on hwy 12 in Weir Ms (662 547 5100) are two '66 era short wide BIG BACK GLASS trucks. The white one has a nice body with min rust, nice sail panels on the cab & no chrome. the blue one has some left side damage to the body. Also the sister to the truck McCoyAZ just posted. Mike priced the white cab to me for $200 less doors.

On my way to LA and back, I saw two working trucks. I saw the first at the gas station in the morning, then saw this guys recycling rig at the scrap metal yard. He had that old Apache loaded down, might be his home as well...

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

I spotted this 64-66 Short Stepper outside a body shop in Cheektowaga NY. Exposed to the elements, all the cheap chrome parts (grille, bumper, baby moons) were rusting.

At the same spot there was an Advanced Series truck and an old Dodge rat truck, decorated for the season.

Funny thing about the 47-53 truck... many Canadians will recognize the paint scheme. There's a chain of "Montana's Cookhouse" restaurants across Canada, and in each location there'll be an old red truck usually hanging up in the rafters.

I read that there were a few US locations in NY and MI that were only open for a short time, then closed. I would assume that's where this old red truck came from.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

I have seen this truck many times probably over the past 2 years and the cab has never left the back. I didn't look close but it looks like a 63 grill and that is a knee knocker cab on the back.

Re: 60-66 Chevy Truck spotters thread.

Stopped by the auto repair shop where this C60 is sitting. I'd guess it's a 1962. Notice the nice hood jet! My 1965 had to get into the picture too. The repair shop owner has a small collection of classic cars and trucks.

Fender badge shows it to be a 63 and I like the hood ornament.
