BTW a very small update.... Didn't get much done today..really nothing tho. Went to orieleys and got hose clamps for the heater hoses and plumbed the water inlet/outlet on the water pump and intake. Also got a teflon oil psi line for the cluster. That's it for today. Maybe do some electrical tomorrow. Lol Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My 68 swb build.
Believe it or not, every single wire that is spliced, new terminals for pigtails, or wherever a connection is made is soldered and gets super sticky heat shrink and then electrical tape and then wire loom...sorry im ocd on wiring... battery on my phone was going dead and had to resort to the led shop light for a few snap shots.. not much but heres the progress..

Re: My 68 swb build.
Oh and i stopped my orielieys and got a adjustable thermostat for the electric fans...but i dont like the setup where you stick the probe through the radiator...doesnt seem like it would be too acurate... my opinion what i think i should do..i have a threaded plug on the radiator that runs straight into the tank...im thinking get a reducer and epoxy the probe and make it permanent..i could use the probe that the kit came with or i could use a high dollar thermocouple that i have...they both do the same thing so i dont think it matters....opinions??

Re: My 68 swb build.
Wow that's crazy. I wanted to go over there just because it's so much closer. I live in spring and dork on La Porte. It's a long drive that I've been making for 8 years. Looking at ge oil and gas it's only about 20 min from the house.

Re: My 68 swb build.
this is the sensor for the electric fan relay i bought the other nite. i dont like the idea of a sensor going thru the fins of the radiator and it doesnt seem to accurate...so a little epoxy, the sensor of course and a brass fitting to house the sensor.....
little update...not much.... btw my body guy called me last night and complained about my bed at his shop....he wont do any work on it until i pay him some more money....but what i dont get is that he wouldnt finish my cab, front clip until i paid him in full....then i finish and you'll have it in a week....it took him 5 weeks to finish it...so i think ill let him do the final body work and painting and ill get the rest done....so i picked up the fenders and the bed cross sills and dropped them off at the powder coater to blast them for me alot cheaper than what he wanted to charge.... anyways...besides the *****ing and venting, heres a few pics...

Re: My 68 swb build.
was kinda stumped on where to run the plug for the heater control...or the temp wire for the switch leg of the pressure safety switch...so i went thru the drain tube grommet.. worked out perfect...
I mocked up the booster tonite too...is it leaning forward slightly going to cause a problem? or does it really matter?

Re: My 68 swb build.
The booster's leaning forward slightly? You mean like pointing down toward the ground a lil? I think they all do that. I'm pretty sure mine does that some. Yep, just looked at some pics, mine leans foward a little bit too.

Re: My 68 swb build.
That is the way the 67-72 truck boosters sit. Just the opposite of the cars I have owned of the same vintage. Don't know why it is that way but it is correct.

Re: My 68 swb build.
Yay!!! I finally did something right!!! Lol. I thought I was screwed there for a min. I did get a few little things done. I got the a/c switches all hooked up besides the ground. Really the only rhing I have left under the hood is the sensor for the fans and wiring them up, the temp sensor for the cluster. Then it'd be back to under de dash!!!!

Re: My 68 swb build.
thanks, it is kickin my ass somewhat...lol little at a time....I did get something done tonite, again not much but something...i didnt like the ez wiring plug for the steering column, so i decided to cut the original off the factory harness, stripped, soldered, and heat shrinked the wires so now the steering column harness is done...yay..lol also put new gm style spades for the factory pigtail for the brake switch and all i have to do is remove the old wires and snap in the new ones...column harness, done. brake switch harness, done. headlight switch, done. ignition switch, done. things left to wire.... neutral safety switch, cig. lighter, ammeter(when i get it figured out), oil pressure line, tachometer, a/c compressor wire to condenser, door locks/popper(when i get them) and electric windows.....i think thats it...
