Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
ahhhh, i see that O.L.D. virus is heading south...
got the body thinned down some, started the int tub, a floor cut the back of the cab off & moved it further back. comes with a bench seat, just not right for a panel, parts box seats, need to raise them up will it fit? not bad....like the other '55's it will need cab to body fillers... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
little bit more
made the in cab tank fit underneath, both wheel tubs in made some body ribs. stock panel trucks were only double skinned partway up, then single with the ribs hanging out, chevy then attached a board to the ribs to prevent damage to the skin if your cargo took off on ya, so i picked up a piece of basswood to replicate it could'nt resist, really liking this |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
yup, know what thats like....
got 2 crews & a '55 waiting, a peterbilt.....and then today i threw a couple more in the mix. too good a deal to pass up, for up here anyway. '70 big block impala 3n1 $10, another'68 elky big block $10 '60 fleetside, $5 cause the box is boogered, like i care.... going to try find another '60 to make a crewy, impala & elky i snagged for parts, mainly the b.blocks, cause i have no more big blocks left in the parts box, had just enough to put one together for the panel. it costs me 'bout 3x's what i paid for the impala for one b.block from the casters was re-hashing these old headers out, but i think i will snag a set of the stockers from the impala. thats whats left of a cowl plenum air cleaner |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
that bites Dale!
gets harder the older ya get....hope you can find something....you might have to take up building models to kill time... nope, have'nt dragged out the camper yet....25th anniversary in may, in that time i have never, ever bought the wife any kind of jewelry, i know nothing about it-all chinese to me, she even had to pick out her own wedding ring. wife was more likely to get a quart of Pennzoil from me... so last x-mas i got stupid & started payments on an expensive ring....been slow at work-rain..... see where this is going....do i put plates on the crew to pick up the camper () or make a payment on wifes ring for anniversary next month () hmmmm, i like to be fed anyways, got a 427 happening for the panel |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
I have a few offers but if I take one my severance dissappears. So I'll get stuff done around the ranch and then worry about it. Make the payment and make her happy. I suck at picking jewelry too.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
i tell ya Dale, i REALLY be liking how this thing looks!
...good thing this truck is not female..... my mix-mash rolling stock. tires from Fireball, rims from Scenes Unlimited, brakes from BNL, modified parts box wheel backs & '65 chevy truck caps. and of course none of it fit together worth a crap some racks for the roof, just started rear springs, hoping to get the rear susp done today/tomorrow..... .....cause the front is 90% there. i just cant help myself... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks guys!
yeah, it's actually going together way easier then i figured it would Dale, no probs or issues.....yet well today was an extremely good day. with the goverment's changes to the tax laws the other month, found out today i'm not getting $730 back, i'm getting (taa-dah!) $3126 back, heck ya!! then when i got home i found some more junk in the mail box with the tires for the crewcab dually hawgs, hawgs & more hawgs, & the dually rims i bought few weeks ago fit perfect this time little more inside was going to paint the frame tonite, but i ended up blowing the whole night screwing around with my shocks.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
got the first coat of primer on the body, after i added some styrene to the windshield (first issue, gaps in the glass/body mounting...) and really had to work this hood to get it flush, more styrene
was able to get the frame painted tonite |
