Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.

Well have the front sheet metal off the truck and bed is out. Motor out for rebuild. Now working on taking the fenders and the rest of the rear box off. I don't think they ever planned on someone taking the fenders off.......lol. Have had to drill them off. Does anyone know of a number 3 Phillips impact socket?

I agree with earl84. A good seat build thread would be nice.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.

Yeah. I finally get to post in this thread.

Yesterday I replaced all 4 wheel cylinders and a rusty brake line. May have found a donor truck for power disc and power steering too, but need the truck to be drivable till that happens.

I also pulled out rear fender and straightened the support rod. Can't even tell it was ever pushed in.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.

Today is the day that this body goes under the knife to become the extended cab truck I have always wanted. No sure if there will be a build thread or not.

Before anyone starts crying about cutting up a Burb, I've had it for sale for 4 months and only got insults on pricing.
Time to proceed with the next project:

1965 Xtend Cab dually. Already have my duramax, Allison, and 4 bar,14 bolt rear ready, as well as the disc brake front end.

Let the fun begin!!

Ambitious project, tincan. Would love to see a build thread, but I know they can be a project in themselves. If not, then at least take some pics and post in this thread.

It is not. It's got PB stage 1 on the front and stage 2 on the back. In the pic it's actually aired out completely, first time I did that after installing the stage 2 this past winter. I just wanted to see what it looked like with no air in the bags.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.

Installed a CPP front swaybar and changed from manual brakes to power. The brakes are nice but the swaybar was the best upgrade I have made.
Big difference in the ride and handling.

dont get me "started" on starters so what did i do today since my car is down i pedal'd a total of 24mi with a starter on my back to find out it drags worst the my delco remy, so now i have to bike another 24mi to get my starter and have it rebuilt i would do it myself but hell thats what paychecks are for to "pay" someone to do stuff...

That's it, swapped it out just last week when I put the bed back on the frame, much better shape than the one it came with.
I do need to start getting rid of some stuff though, swapped out parts are starting to pile up.
Your trucks looking good.
