Re: Project...praise the lowered
thanks guys.im so close to putting down the tools and just enjoying it.after trying to upholster the steering wheel i discovered that i cant sew worth crap lol.but i tried.so i was at my fathers shop checking some junk steering columns we had kicking around and after having no luck with a matching spline to my newer steering shaft he said to try a wheel off a early 90`s gmc he had bought as a donor truck for a later project and it was a perfect fit.i wish i discovered this long ago.would have saved so much time and headache.i forgot to get a pic but im a happy man.i plan to re paint the console and glove box tomorrow and besides that all thats left is small jobs that i can pick away at when i get it home.i will try for another update tomorrow

Re: Project...praise the lowered
ladies and gentle men.the truck has officially made the 45 min drive home under its own power.man what a feeling.its crazy how much attention was drawn to it.a few rattles and bugs have to be worked out but besides that it was great.i have a few more things to complete so i will keep updating when ever i can.
now i really have to thank my buddy randy for letting me use his shop for so long and giving great advise when ever i was stumped. and a couple friends that gave me a hand from time to time thanks to my father for turning me into a gear head at such a young age a huge thanks to my wife for giving her 100% to help out and put up with my highs and lows and for her huge support. and thanks to all you guys on the form for keeping my a$$ motivated time to drag some frame praise the lowered

Re: Project...praise the lowered
well i have some good cruzing hours on the build and the reaction i get every time i go out is pay off.if im in a rush to go somewhere and need gas i have to plan to bail out/send the wife in to pay and get rolling down the road asap or i could be stuck talking to people pulling in to check it out haha.anyways...i have a better more clear pic we took in a sunny evening last week.

Re: Project...praise the lowered
thanks like always guys.this weekend i put her to the test.i went on a bit of a road trip.first to the cottage over a rough gravel road which was a great shake down test and nothing came lose or fell off.then me and the wife did some cruzing around my home town,to the beach and many miles of country roads.the old truck performed great.and my fuel mileage wasnt too bad at all.heres a few cool snap shots i got the last couple days.including one from the wifes maternity photo shoot
