Re: My new project 86 Silverado

i noticed something else, when i put the engine/tranny(bout 800 pounds) in, the front end didn't go down very much... it looks like it's higher than the back...
i'm hoping all the fenders, hood, radiator, all the other crap under the hood etc. etc. will make it go down some more LOL

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Just finished reading your whole thread. Great looking project. It's the Olds power that initially caught my attention, I like unusual combos.

One thing I noticed... On the ball joints on the upper control arms, the bolts are in backwards. The nuts are supposed to be on the top side. This is so that there is more clearance around the boot on the bottom side.

Good luck with your project!

Oh, and I think you're right that the additional front end weight will bring the nose down.

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

YAAAAAY...
well today marks the 3rd year of my rebuild... it's on the downslope now i hope LOL

i'm happy that all the build work so far on my truck was out in the front yard, and only a handful of tools... no special stuff, no welder etc. a true shade tree mechanic build

hope to be finished enough in a couple of months to drive it... final paint will be a while anyway...

updates soon...
