Hey Jeff your truck is far from a beater. The jamb work was done by Tom Painter in the business park by the drag strip and the rest will be done by Hawk Restoration by Pedula.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Been a while since I've updated this thing. My front wheels showed up yesterday but I'm not home so I don't have any pictures. They are 20x8.5 with 5" of bs. I have been tinkering with all of the wiring and a bunch of little stupid things and everything is basically complete. My to-do list is exhaust, shocks, center link, rearend, driveshaft, finish paint, and glass. The rearend should be done by the weekend. Its a custom nickel plated 9" floater 59" face to face. Once the rear is here it'll be a roller and off to paint it goes. I have been stupid busy up at school with the semester nearing completion so I'll have some pictures for you guys by the end of next week.

I was thinking about this build the other day. Wondering where you've been. Yep, post some pics.
My wife is graduating from App State with her Masters next week.

Hey Jeff, its been a while. I've been extremely busy up at school. It's been a challenging semester for me. I'll have some pics when I'm home next weekend. That's awesome about your wife, what did she major in?

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Some minor updates. I got the radiator overflow line ran and polished and finished the brake lines running from the master to the proportioning valve. The spindles are having new brake brackets put on right now and should be done early next week. Once those are done they will go to powder and then final installation. I will be picking up the rear end housing tomorrow and then it's going straight to paint. Impatiently waiting, let me know what you guys think

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Everything looks great, how do you plan on doing the paint, Hugger and white or all Hugger. Hugger with the middle/roof white with the upper/lower trim is my favorite color combo on the 69-72 trucks.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

I'm thinking about hugger and white 71-72 paint and upper / lower woodgrain but use the 68 hood and white grille section.

Would that be goofy?

I have thought about doing the same thing cause I love that color combo, except I like the lower moldings black instead of woodgrain. If it is goofy then I guess I am goofy

Thanks man, I think I am going to redo the brake lines but I like the rad overflow line. It's really not that hard once you get the hang of it and it's just one of those details that I'll be able to appreciate.

Thank you sir. I don't like knowing that I could've done better on something so I am trying my hardest on every little thing. It should look pretty good when it's all done.

Thanks Bennett, the paint will be solid hugger orange with upper and lower cheyenne trim. I really like the two tone with white but I want to be a little different then everyone else. Plus my favorite color is orange so I think it'll look sweet.

That would actually look pretty sweet. I really like 67-8 hoods and will be putting one on my next truck.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Little update, finally after four months of waiting I have my own rear end housing. Nickel plated nine inch built to width with the right brake brackets. Let me know what you guys think. Spindles are at powdercoat and I will be picking them up Tuesday or Wednesday and then it'll be a roller. If I don't have any more hiccups I should be able to get it to paint on Friday

Re: 72 Cheyenne Super Plain Jane

Also Intro sent me two different wheels in the mail so I am waiting for them to track down my other front wheel and send it to me. Once that gets here I will get the front rubber mounted and they'll be ready to be bolted up. I am pretty fed up with the bull that Intro has put me through.

Man, that 9" is the cat's meow! I love it. Can you PM me a price on what those run? That stinks to hear about your wheel issues man. That's sweet you can get it to paint so soon. I bet you can't wait to get it together and go for a cruise!
