I think he means a virtual tour. But please don't show us any snow pics. We're finally getting rid of that stuff here.

Hey DW...

I am out of town at the moment but hey when i get back for sure.Snow is long gone now it's the rainy season....but the sun will shine again. But while your here...my 1993 3500 dually has a 454 in it and lays frame. Can i put a 24 value in it and still lay frame with a 2" cowl hood on it you think ?

( I found a 24 value with the tranny thats all rodded up and looking for a new home so i thought....HHHhhhmmm that would make a great winter build project )

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street

Well like I don't have enough projects on the fly....
I decided what the heck might as well rip apart the 58 thats been sittin in my yard that doesn't move....So i ripped a engine out in the dark the other night of the 72 longhorn thats more yard art then a driver, and order up some spare parts. That should be in play for mid next week when the parts arrive. It's probaly going to be the first new runners of this years fleet. It's not going to be all fancy it's going to be a updated driver with moderate power and a automatic tranny tilt colum and new wiring kit. ....yes Dino...yes...I have another truck... but i think this is the only one you haven't haven't seen.....lol...

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street

On the street truck build.....that as ready for paint

Okay i screwed up....

It started when i got a great deal on this wicked stero that i had to have....well....cut the dash out to put it in....lost the factory air hole...so i bought new ac controls. I bought new vents for the ac and am going to put them in the rectangle boxes to each side of where the radio goes. Will put the ac controls under the stero and I hope it looks good...i really do because I am kicking my self in the a$$ right now for doing it. Did i mention i had to lose the wiper motor and go to a hotrod cable set up because the stero is too big ?

So basically I tim the taylor tool man'ed my dash.........shakes my head.....my bad. I don't know what I was thinking at the time but it should be complete in a day or too ( again )

If don't feel better about this soon I am going to have to put it all back in, which we all know is going to be way more work then it was to take it out.

It will take some oil pan mods, but I don't see why you couldn't.

By the way, that 58 is dang nice man! Are all your trucks blue or some thing? Gonna have to change your name to Papa Smurf buddy!

What? Now a Longhorn yard ornament? Geez, do you have half of the Canadian GM truck fleet resting in the "Field of Dreams"?

I may just have to try to plan a trip to Az this fall to go to the GG's show and meet you. Unless you bring the hauler by.

OK, I have a question.
This is just a question not... slamming your ride or anything.. but..
How can you tow anything with your truck set up like that?
My truck is not as low as that and I am constantly having issues with the trailers nose being too low on mine.
So, what can you tow with that and how. Seriously, I would like to know so I can try the same thing.

Well there is a couple of things ...

1) I can air up the system to raise it up....those pictures have the frame actually on the ground it wouldn't move like that...lol

2) A raised reversed hitch that you can raise your hitch up on

3) The tounge/hitch on my trailer is not welded in place ... it's bolted into a channel and can be raised or lowered on the trailer.....there is probaly 10" of adjustment on my trailer hitch alone...

4)...On my avalanche ( wich is lowered with 20's ) it worked out that i just took the slide out turned it upside down and put the ball on the top. That adjustment raised the ball just over 2" and was perfect.

But i understand what your talking about... the trailer tounge has to be nearly perfect or it tows like a hunk of junk and is all over the road...I learned that lesson years ago and always take the time to find the sweet spot before towing.

Re: 1966 SBBW pro street

I flipped my receiver and got about 3-4" higher but the bee-otch is when I am sent to pick up a trailer while working and the dang thing is way the flip up in the air...
My own trailer is fine but my truck is a work truck and there are too many times I just can't or won't pull a trailer that won't pull safe... LOL
Know what I mean ???
