Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

After being cooped up in that box all weekend en route from Indiana to Kansas, Monroe was a tired and stiff. He decided to take it easy tonight and watch TV with Grandma.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

I was going to take Monroe to work with me this morning, but the little bugger wouldn't wake up. Probably sat around most of the day watching more TV and smokin cigarettes with Grandma. I hope he doesn't get hooked.

But when I got home, I found him just hanging out in the garage leaning up against the tool box staring at my truck.

He was pretty disappointed that we can't take it for ride, so I let him sit behind the wheel for a while.

Tonight's it's early to bed because he's going to work with me like it or not. I've got a surprise planned for lunch!

That's pretty much the reaction I got from wife and Grandma (mother-in-law).

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

Monroe caught wind of the surprise and was wide-eyed and ready to go first thing this morning. He was pretty excited when he saw the sign and insisted I take his picture.

He changed his tune once we went inside and decided to wait in the truck. Didn't talk to me the the rest of the day.

When we got home he wanted to "inspect" my body work. He didn't say much. Just looked down his beak at the truck, then at me, then back at the truck and back at me with an occasional "hmmmm." I told him it wasn't done, but he he just kept giving me "that look."

Monroe kind of changed his tune when the grandkids came over. He really liked Daisy, but not so sure about Porter.

Afterward he decided to retire to his roost in the kitchen to get rested up before hitting the road tomorrow.

You didn't tell him you went in to set all the chickens free? (but were too late)
One little white lie might have helped him not hold anything against you, at least. So, he's plucking right along to the next adventure, ey?

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

I'm a civil engineer and one of our best (paying) clients decided to change buildings and double the size of three of my projects, at once. Did I mention all three are fully permitted and under construction? I've been working nights and weekends for the past month, I don't even know how many hours... There is light at the end of the tunnel... I have one more big submittal due Wednesday afternoon and they're all back in and complete.

I was still at work last night and my wife told me a strange box showed up at our door.

Funny. I didn't order anything? Where is it from?

"Kansas?"

WTF, I don't know anyone in Kansas. Open it and see what it is?

Silence...

Well, what is it?

It's ummmm... a tattooed rubber chicken? What kinda of weird **** are you doing now?

It's kind of weird explaining to your wife that you and your internet friends are playing with a rubber chicken...

Long story short, I'm slammed the next few days, but I plan on going to the Goodguys event in Charlotte with my truck club on Saturday, so there should be some awesome pics coming I'll absolutely have him back in the mail on monday.

The last time I had his dad up in Charlotte he got to meet The King himself!!!

^^ That just made my morning. I could see my wife saying that exact same thing.

Love that this is going again. Can't wait for the next adventure.
