I have that same rollbar in my blazer. i planned on attaching a three point belt to the rollbar as well. It makes me feel
Much safer having something over my head when the top is off.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Shot a coat of raptor liner on the frame. Used two bottles but sprayed it with an hvlp gun instead of the shutz gun. I didn't thin it at all and it sprayed on fine. I like how the texture came out. If you held the gun close it left a smooth surface almost like paint but backing up a few inches gave it a nice even texture. Looks sandpaperish but still feels smooth. Kinda wish I did the underside like that now.

me too....I made some brackets and moved the diver seat back about 2½ inches to make some more leg room....figured the location for the top seat belt link will be perfect if placed in the short tube that's between the two main tubes....gonna make those today and get them welded in.

Also plan on drilling some small holes to fish a wire up from the bottom to the top of the bar......I want to put in some small LED interior lights that will come on with the courtesy lights under the dash.....

I got mine from Mar-K, it was just perfect. I measured twice or three times and drilled once. Scary but it worked out great. They make such a great product.

Hi, I bought the truck from HUGGER*(USMC to USN! ) about a year and a half ago. Great guy, unfortunately his health wasn't the greatest so my son and I flew to Phili to purchase the truck. Most of the build is posted on this site too!

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Nice, I don't know where I'm going to end up remounting mine. Right now, it's in the rear mid section housing stereo equipment (I cut 6.5 JL's in the sides with a remote Pioneer TV unit embedded) and I have brand new black spare console in case I want to switch back.

Trim looks great on these blazers. I'll measure 5 times just to be sure! Did you repaint the holes in the area you drilled?

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

What did you do today?

The OG gas pedal broke a few grocery store trips ago and now I'm just stepping on the "stick." I've got a new Lokar pedal and measuring for fit now. Seems like I'm going to end up mucking with it all the way to the carb.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

A week ago I was in the Blazer on my way home from a car show and smelled coolant.. and noticed the temp. gauge was a little above 200*. It never runs hot. I found the radiator had split a solder seam between the core and the tank on the pass. side. I got the repaired radiator back on Fri. from the shop... $95. Radiator looks nice. I cleaned & painted a little on the rad. support yesterday and set the shroud and radiator back in. Looked at the hoses & decided to replace 'em, - they're 5+ years old. Belts are old too, but look fine. Off to the auto parts store after breakfast with a couple of other old truck geezers I hang around with, both have pretty nice '51 Chevy trucks. I'm the "youngster" at 65.

I had a set of those wheels on a brand new '72 Cutlass. First time I replaced tires on the car the mounting machine busted about a quarter of the rim off the inside of one of 'em. Still remember the funny noise it made. 'Course the wheels were out of stock, so I rode around on the mismatched spare for about 3 weeks.... Thanks for the memories Lieferson

I started a build thread.... Titled Crossbreed. The name comes from it being a combination of Jimmy, blazer and a 67-68 C10. Really it's more Jimmy than anything but the vin and title say blazer so thats what it is.

Also cut the drum brake mounting brackets off my 14 bolt. Going to weld on some brackets to accept the rear discs from the gmt800 trucks.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Frame looks good. Almost have mine finished up. Trying to get paint on everything can be a pain, have to go it each spot from 10 different angles. Seems like every time I look at mine I see a crevice somewhere that I didn't get coated.
