Hey Brian,I do have my own footage but got a little excited and swore so I don't think it would meet the rules here on the site.
I'm still waiting for footage from the shop.

I can tell you 428 ft lbs of torque and just under 400hp.redline approx 5800rpm

Very exciting ! It's one more step in the build.Does sound pretty good ! I'm looking to run 3" stainless exhaust front to back,probably Flowmaster HP2 for mufflers....still debating.

Just got the truck back from the painter this morning.Firewall redo and steering column sprayed in base clear...looking good.

I also had the wood brace/box supports tacked to their underside brackets ,now it should be alot easier to r&r the box next time around.

At one point with wood in and box squared,I drilled reference points with a 1/8 bit and dropped locating pins through the holes.

If you have to go on and off with the box as many times as I did....,you will definately want to take the time to do this.All three brace's that rest on the frame are all done this way,I have circled in red to highlight them.

I finally mounted the column in place for the last time..,and it felt good ! A local Rod builder up here supplied me with some custom 6061 finishing washers that I used at the mount and will probably use on the hood hinge's and other areas I can think of later on.

The booster went on just after.It looks good with Cap's booster bracket and the aluminum top cap I made to finish it all.

I also started on my battery tray tonight,I'm loosing the factory hold down and making a block that secures the battery at the bottom.

Yesterday I had a day off from work,so I took advantage of it and brought the remainder of the engine bay parts being the hood,inner fenders etc. to the paint shop.

It's exciting to be moving ahead at this rate now ! In all fairness,alot of time and energy went into preparing for it.The last thing I wanted to do was drill into fresh paint for something I overlooked.

The latest job completed was drilling a hole at the rear passenger side of the hood for a 3'8 I.D stainless door loom.I tossed the idea of the contacts to eliminate the singnal wires,but anything I found just wasn't small and durable.enough in my opinion.

By the end of the month I will have everything back from the paint shop,I was clear to my painter there was no rush,so if anything might have been missed,I will have bought some time here.

I went to a battery shop today and found a dead donor for my mod.It's a newer Chevy version so it will be easy to get when it comes time to bolt the new one in.


I made the rear mounts out of some scrap laying around the shop.I'm always glad I kept the small stuff,beats going to the local steel yard and wasting time.


The plastic block,Chevy as well.Had to modify it front and back to make it fit, now holds the battery tightly in place.

Going to the wrecking yard today to find Chevy 3157 pigtails for the front signal/marker lights.I have a loaner out of a Chrysler for a guide to compare with when the search starts.

I came up with a cool idea that will alllow my marker lights to be lit up white and signals to flash amber.The style bulb I will be using is silver ,so it should be hidden well behind the lens.

I'm running the clear lens and do not want to see the orange bulb in the background of the housing,so hopefully this works out.

Here we go,late model Chevy Blazer signal pigtails.They fit as tight and maybe just a little better than the original socket.

I now have the updated 3157 bulb,not to mention a lower profile socket that will make it easier route and hide the wires.

I just received my sail panels this weekend ! They have been reworked and restored back to better than new.

Now I'm looking for the mounts,guess I had hoped they would come with but did not.

Anyone know where I might find these ? Hope to go with originals.

Spent the weekend in Vancouver,took my friend Chopper with me.Had a great visit with some friends and family and of course "Rocky the Lab"....,Choppers buddy.

While I was there,I picked up a trunk load of parts for the truck.Air cleaner,serp pulleys,door looms,headlights,kick down and throttle cables,the list goes on.

So today I installed my push button starter switch,It fit tight and covered the OEM hole completely.It blends in nicely with the original buttons and lighter.

No more worries of scratches in the dash from keys !

Assembled the new Hella 4 E-Codes tonight.They come with a 60w-55w bulb which combined with the housing and the way it's designed should increase the candle output by almost 50% over original.(So I've been told)

Put the headlights into the buckets and mount.Replaced the screws,nuts and springs as well. Everything seems to fit pretty good for the upgrade.

I did see in a post some time back that the rubber cover at the back has a tendancy to push the plug off ,so just to trim it back around the prongs.Ill do that later on and post a pic.

I decided to go with .035 wall stainless for brake and fuel lines. At this stage of the game.., why cheap out.

I will be using AN fittings with a 37 degree flare as anyone who has tried knows a 45 degree dual flare on stainless is near impossible to achieve.

I picked up the lines yesterday after work, and was able to bring the brake line at 20 foot long home without cutting it down. Almost 8 feet lancing out the passenger window...,good thing no cops were around.

Today I spent the morning polishing it all .

So after work next week, this will all get plumbed in with hopes of installing the engine and trans a week or two after.

I was nervous about flaring my own ends, but am happy to report they have been connected and filled almost 6 months now without any signs of leakage. Next will be to check them after they have been run with pressure...

By chance did you do them in stainless ? Yes doing the lines without more joints than needed makes for less headaches in the end.

Great work, man. I always look forward to your updates. I have been working on my brake lines and I'm hoping to do my fuel line real soon so I have a particular interest in what you've got going on. The small details make all the difference.
