Not a problem. Yeah, I've heard mixed reviews as well. Of the ones I've seen in person, that's where I was told the material came from. I've seen other examples here on the forum. I've heard of long wait times.

Btw, good to see another member in my area. If you're a Facebook user, be sure to look up the C/10 Club- Tennessee page & join. Lots of good, like-minded folks in our area & surrounding.

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Factory Correct Restoration Thread

Looking for pictures of where joint sealant was used on 1960 cab. I just had mine dipped and blasted and while I could just seal all joints, I would like to try to limit it to where the factory used it. Thank you

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Factory Correct Restoration Thread

On my 60 C10, previous owner(s) cut out part of the ashtray mount behind dash to fit a radio from a 67 Chevelle in there, They also drilled 4 holes around the speaker slots and mounted a 6x9 speaker with a steel grill. I would like to return to the stock speaker mount. Anyone have pictures of what that looks like?

I can't remember if I took this picture of my '66 or if I found it on the web, but I think this is what you are looking for.

What a great picture! I was wondering how the speaker was held in place without the typical 4 screws. Now I need to see if I can find what I need to put it back to original. Thank you for the picture.

Re: The 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Factory Correct Restoration Thread

Have a question about rear springs from my 1966 Custom Camper. I am "preserving" the under side of the truck, just replacing bushings and cleaning up the components. You can see the parts as they were pulled off and the rear springs after an overnight soak. Does the purple paint on the springs look like originals from other trucks?

Thanks

Looks factory, probably the color code for the heavy duty 3000lb coils vs. the standard 2000lb. coils. Does your glove box SPID list the HD rear springs? Needless to say, but the 3000lb coil C 20's ride like tanks, however the standard 2000lb C 20's ride very nice.

SPID and Build sheet show HD front springs, HD rear springs, and the additional helper springs.

BTW, front springs are not off of the truck yet, but they look to have orange paint similar to the rear springs.

Front springs, 66’ C20 Custom Camper, orange rate color.
Optional 7500 GVW

Also if you can save the axle U bolts, they are in good condition, they are much better then what you buy today.

Mine has the same rear springs, with 7500 GVW rating.

Here are the front springs from my truck pre-soak in evapo rust. You can see the orange markings both positioned toward the front of the vehicle. Will post after dis-assembly and clean up. Frank

Les, Posted pics of my springs. Look very close to yours. FYI, had to cut the u bolts on my Rear. Posted a pic of the original and the replacement. Perfect, made to order, great price in Kansas by General Spring. Highly recommend. https://www.generalspringkc.com/U_Bolts_s/1964.htm

Finally catching up with summer here and will be back to finishing the brake rebuild and tire swap on my '61 C20. These Coker retro 17.5" tires look great, just hope they ride alright.

Will post more pics as things progress.

If those are Super Transports from Coker, the set I bought from them are great.

This are the factory applied numbers/date to the frame. They are painted upside down, in orange - as best we can figure the truck was #889 manufactured on January 29th, 1960.

I had to blast these off when I restored the frame, so we put them back on.

Hello jbgroby

I was hoping for a frame blueprint but thanks for that info didn’t actually know what those numbers meant. I’m just trying to save some work measuring my frame to line up my cab was hoping somebody would have a drawing with measurements for cab supports and measurements from the steering box to the cab

Notice on this truck the very front of the bed wood to bed panel bolts are on top of the paper and end up body color. Ill find some examples of GMC bolts. I believe we need some bed detail pictures from OEMforme's 66 Chevy ! Like Yelmer mentioned also there will be some differences plant to plant. I've noticed a mix of painted and plated bolts on all of these trucks. If you look at picture one of the blue inner fender the one next to the bedside is still natural while the rest are painted. This particular truck I had the chance to see in person. Original tires , original everything.

I'm getting close to paint time on my 60 C10 and need some guidance from you factory original guys! I was wondering if the underside of the hood is body color or black. Also, under the front and rear fenders, and underside of cab, is it black or body color?

I found a picture of the 1961 interior interior from a brochure. Does anyone know where we could find a close or similar pattern material to reupholster the bench seats?
