You would cut it behind the front axle from where it starts to angle up. You would add the amount of metal you want it lowered. There's a lot of different ways to keep it strong though. Like Riddrida said, You probably won't have to Z it. Think smarter, not work harder.

Re: Daverods project 66

The po of my 64 wacked the brake switch wires and hooked them up different. When I put my brakes on the signal on one side workes the way it should but on the other side just the brake light works? With the brakes off everythinking works fine? I don't know where the wires from the brake switch hook up to? I know it's not the way the po did it. The red wire comes from the swith and then is just wired into one of the three wires going to the rear.

Re: Daverods project 66

Worked on my 350. Put the cam in, oil pump on, pick up welded on, oil pan on and balancer on. Sanded on my bedsides some more. The guy I bought my last doors from took a belt sander to get the paint off. They have about a 1/2" belly in them. I'm going to heat them up and then put cold water on them to see if that will help at all.

I is a member. 106 Makes me just sweat thinking about it. I have to tear a dormer off a roof tomorrow and install a skylight. Bring it. I'm hoping I can do most the work from the inside. With the AC cranked.

From what I remember Hilandr on here is a pretty good electrician and a great guy when it comes to helping people. I would look him up.

If I can't figure it out in the next little while I will. I don't know why the po would hook it up the way it is. I just want it back the way it was. There's probably the end of the red wire under there somewhere. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

I'm going with Gage that's a good price for a good investment on a problem free harness. Wont have to worry about it for years!

I'm liking the wire kit. I thought they were more like $400.

Be careful what you buy. You get what you pay for. Do research and comparison's. Not saying the EZ Wiring is bad though.

Re: Daverods project 66

I've heard a lot of people say they like the EZ harness. I have a painless made for our trucks and it was $400 something, but a good product.

Re: Daverods project 66

I was working on my engine (350) Went to put the fuel pump on and got confussed? Does this thing look like a fuel push rod. It's flat on on end and kinda round on the other. It has little ridges on the sides. It fits in the hole and seems to be the right lenght. The reason I'm worried is because it looks just like some old broken darts I use to have. I looked at pictures on the net and I haven't seen any that look like this one. Just don't want to stick a dart in my new engine.

Re: Daverods project 66

Pic isnt very clear, but if it is correct the flat end would be against the cam. Try sliding it in the engine...they usually fall right out without a gob of grease to hole them in place. See if it looks right.

Thanks you don't know how close I came to putting that in there. Now all I have to do is find the fuel rod. Least now I know it's not a dart.
