Not sure if I've commented yet, but loving this build and that motor looks awesome with that maggie sitting on top of it. Very jealous indeed! Will definitely be following this.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Thanks sig, stopped by the painters yesterday and everything was blasted and being prepped. Blasting revealed some cancer on the floor but I knew that was there. Also revealed how much we abused the tailgate so many years ago, there was one redneck fix that I had forgot we did, guess redneck worked OK for 30 years

It still looks pretty dam good for 50 years old

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I need to relocate the Power Steering Reservoir, anyone here done this?

Also I'm open to any ideas about relocating the coils. I have a bracket for the top of the new valve covers but I'm also considering moving to a remote location.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I have seen a few rides that locate them on the inner fenders and run wires straight across to the plugs. Our bays tend to be wider though than a lot of rides these motors end up in, so I think they'd almost be more noticeable in that configuration than on the covers. They should be relatively innocuous once the blower is on right? PS in writing this post I went back a page to look at the motor pics again. Gave me shivers the second time around as well.

If you look on page 24 of my build you can see how I relocated my power steering reservoir. An LT1, but similar...

Thanks for the info, I really think the only option is up high and on the passenger side due to the inlet being so freaking hidden.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Update, all body parts are at painter and have been stripped and blocking will start this week so 3-4 weeks away from see her all dressed up

This is where I am on the Supercharger issues, coil relocation will work but I not all that excited about it. I'm torn between the clean look (remote coils) and the coils being visible which give it the LS look. I will make the final decision once the final assembly starts.

Going to look at relocating the Power Steering Reservoir on the upper passenger side or maybe have to look and see if the truck accessories drive will work, damn!

Supercharger is installed, only real issue is the coolant line, will try to resolve that this week as well, vintage air kwik bracket for the A/C has caused a number of issues.

Here are todays pics:

Not so clean look: (But not Bad)

Very nice build. You will really like the BLOWER! I had this same set up in a 67 nova and I will tell you that you might need to look into a seat / seat belt upgrade and maybe a dang 4 link. I used the 6.3 Ls3 with a auto trans on this build in my 65C10. I think I'm getting old......LOL Killer build by the way.

At this point, after all these years hard to imagine it with color.

Leaking under dash A/C caused all those floor issues but she went back nicely.

Nothing wrong with getting old . I don't need the horse power (now I'm old), but I do like the WOW factor. This truck was crazy without the supercharger, now it's just cooler! Not bad for an old fart as my kids say.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Going to go with the clean look, found some nice coil relocation brackets, I have the accessories off and no body panels so it's a little risky moving stuff but I think this is going to work

Looks great....Less is more. I like the location where you mounted the coils. know you just need new (longer) wires right?

Yes, the kit came with some universal plug wires (MSD). I just cut to length and put the coil ends on, worked great!
