Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Glad you got it running. I'm curious what the problem was too, but I guess it doesn't matter if you're keeping the electric pump. Post some pics when you can.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Well today I worked on the interior some. For the sound deadener on the floor I bought Fatmat brand and I didn't think I would have enough to do the doors. So I went down to the local hardware store and found something that should work just fine, it is a foil duct insulation that is adhesive one one side. I bought a 12" by 15 foot roll for $15.99. That's a lot cheaper than Dynamat and those other brands. Here's a pic of the drivers door with it installed.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
I got both doors finished today, also put my glove box liner back in and installed the gear selector on the steering column. Tomorrow after work I hope to pull the seats back out and start putting down the sound deadener and get ready for carpet. Here's a few pics.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Yesterday evening after work I started putting the sound deadener in the floor, even though the carpet will cover it up I'm still trying to do a nice job on it. It's pretty time consuming!!! By the way, have any of you guys installed the carpet on the backside of the cab after the fuel tank was relocated?? I got my piece from Laidbackrecreations (Kyle) but not sure how to make it attach and look OK. Any ideas????

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
We are still working 7 days a week right now so evening time is all I got right now but I did manage to get all the sound deadener finished up this evening and started on the carpeted rear panel for the back of the cab. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow evening, I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. The piece I got from Trimparts is just a loose piece of carpet so I made a panel to attach it to then fasten it to the cab. We'll see how it turns out!!!!

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
I worked on the inside a little more this evening. I got the right clip for the park brake cable put on and got the rear panel I made installed, it turned out ok. I took a piece of thin 1/4" Luan and made a backing board to glue the carpet to and then used trim screws to screw to the high ribs where the old gas tank would have mounted. I went ahead and put the carpet down so maybe let it set a day or two so it will take shape and maybe some of the wrinkles will come out. It's been laying flat in the extra bedroom for a week and a half and still has quite a few wrinkles in it my radio and stainless sill plates should be here this week sometime and hopefully I'll get the interior finished up.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Carpet and the back wall looks great Jason, if you can find somewhere that rents a steamer that would straighten the carpet wrinkles out.

I never thought about that, my wife has a steamer. I'll have to put her to work

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
I watch too many car shows on TV. I watched a episode of American Hotrod and they used a steamer to get all the wrinkles out of the new upholstery.
