Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Its alive!!! After a great weekend working on the old girl she fires right up. Took her for the madin drive around the block no worries. Ran to the loacl mall that has a tag and tile shop and paid the additiaol 60.00 fee but was worth it. Put the tags on and headed out for a saturday night drive. Well the New Process 203 transfer case soon put a damper on my weekend. Seems the PO did not disclose all. It makes an ungodly noise. Going to check a few threads and hope its a quick fix. But doubt it. Any way it runs!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Nice day today.

Went out and uncovered her. Fixed the tach wire that'd come loose from the fuse panel, lined up the body lines for the hood. Lubed the hood hinges.
Made this little video to check before I change the stance around a little.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_ugg...ature=youtu.be

Tweeked down the fuel mix a 1/4 turn, 'cause it was a little rich.

Took some stills for the same reason as above. I bought 1.5" spacers for the rear. The 1" on the back I'll put up front.
They are really high quality and I've been running these for a while.

http://tinyurl.com/8czblhz

Finally, I went for a little ride. I determined the metallic "boink!" I was hearing from time-to-time that I thought was somewhere in
the suspension is the fuel tank. It's bolted in solid, but I guess I must need to put some spacers in or some rubber insulator, because
I get the clunking noise every once in a while with some body "flex" going over bumps....

Here's one I Photoshopped moving the rear wheel out .5" like it will be with the new spacer. And then, the "Before".

All around, a good day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Clean the other guys trash out of the bed, started re wiring until my soldering iron stopped working, new 2ga battery cables, throttle return spring bracket, pulled the right rear axle and checked the brakes (needs now ones, and bearings, and seals), and swapped some different wheels.

Thumbs up Re : What did you do to your truck today!

You guys get so much done , it's inspiring .

I got the choke spring Flea-Bay links , thanx .

My truck as always , runs O.K. for an old beat up piece of junk , I need to dip into the engine & swap out the cylinder head for the rebuilt one I have , maybe replace the piston rings , the pistons too if they're not good , replace the bad exhaust manifold , get & install a new choke thermostat , replace the failing aftermarket radio etc. , etc.

Thing is I not only work slowly , I have serious physical limitations and , other vehicles are dead in the water so for now I just keep it full of oil and drive it....

The help and inspiration I get here , is priceless .

Don , remember to ensure the ATF filler tube hole is Hospital clean and free of any overspray , don't use regular O-Ring , viton or other hydraulic fluid resistant is necessary else it'll soon begin to weep & wet the tranny.

The yellow looks very nice indeed .

I see you bought a High Torque starter , that's wise .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Installed my rear brake lines from Inline Tube. The passenger side fit great but the driver side was absolutely terrible! Had to rebend it around the pumpkin, all the bends were wrong! I also installed a new door jamb switch on the driver side and now my dome light works again.

Hahahaha!!!! Love the color match, ole dollor. I'm runnin' one of those, too. Your experience will be different, I'm sure. But if it's not, another thing that's for sure is that you'll know where the red stuff is juicing from.

But like I said, you'll do a better job than I did of making it a non-leaker *before* it goes in.

Well, it was last Sunday, but bought and installed a front and rear chrome bumper off a 69 C10 getting parted out. Also got the windshield to replace my fogged up one, Spring project.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

put the fuel tank and seat back in it, changed the oil, and started it for the first time in 4 years. Ran great. Stopped very badly (is it bad when you have trouble stopping going up a hill at barely above idle speed?). Ordered brake parts.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I guess you could say "trucks"
you know after a swap meet or car show you allways get the itch too do something
test fitted the bb an t400 I really just wanted too see if my 69 camaro headers would fit..... so far I think they fit great......but I wanna use a manual trans

also helped an guided the kid on getting his timing chain replaced. its a lil' sloppy but I've seen worse.
at least no nylon teeth were missing.theres a cloyes double roller going in its place.I wish it would stay as nice as it was today that would make it go a lil' better since its being done outside
