Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Awesome Keith! Drove mine to work today as well, I am in sales, so I was in and out of her all day (the truck).
Found some steel rally wheels I like, bought 5 of them (need to remove and return the rubber). They are 15x8, going to blast them, paint them black, and get some fresh rubber on them for now. May add beauty rings, and center caps at some point. Shot of the rad, re-cored, and back in for ya too.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
So the guy that I got my rims from seems to think that my truck had a 6 in it based on where the engine mounts are located (further towards back of the truck), but the vin says it was a 283 originally. Is me engine further back in the engine bay than it would have been from the factory? Or is this guy full of...

Replaced my tired, bent and leaky trans dip stick and tube. I installed a flexible one and have it mounted on the firewall..

If so, that means the motor mounts are where they are supposed to go! Besides, the further back the better for weight transfer...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I was under the impression that they had that extra hole in front of the
mount. That doesn't mean it was ever mounted there. Thats if my memory serves me right from browsing the forum! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I have been working so much lately I haven't spent much time on the truck. My 11 year finally spoke up tonight and said "Please tell me we are working on the truck this weekend!"
Can't say no to that! Steven

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Looks like most of the fire was at the back of the engine and firewall. I even had flames shooting up through the floor shifter. I think it was all the oil and trans fluid everywhere and I smelt oil just before it happened. It sucks but gave me a good excuse to buy a new motor and interior. Still dont know if im keeping the th350 or going to a 700r4.

Man sad fire but glad your fixin it, nice to save it, I would go for the 700r4, why not have a lower first and also 4th for mileage.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Got the whole front clip disassembled and pressure washed.
Removed a bunch of the paint off the inner fenders and started welding up two holes in the passenger side one. Then, I pressure washed the frame and engine. Next up, taking the inner fenders and some other parts to have the rest of the paint and lousy undercoating job blasted off. Bad news is the core support is really in bad shape. As it turns out, there are only about three panels on the whole truck that won't need rust repair. Steven

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I finally pulled out the truck from its resting place and cleaned it up. Now I just have to get the 235hp inline 6 to work. Trying to keep it stock.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Replaced ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks, installed drop spindles, drop springs and added disc brakes. Tomorrow will be master cylinder, booster, lines, sway bar, rear drop springs, blocks and shocks.
