Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
I would love to build a 16x20 log cabin on our farm out of poplar trees on the back of the place. I just dont have the equipment needed to make it happen. The trees are plentiful and some are 40" in diameter and go 50 feet without a limb. They could do some real damage falling among the oaks.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
this story happened in the last couple of days but started back in the fall,i sold an old 1956 DeSoto Hemi engine i had cause i have 2 and didn't see building anything with one, so one was sold.i planned to buy myself a new TIG welder but decided before Christmas,to buy tickets to go to Toronto and see The Raptors play basketball ball and surprise my wife?a fella can't have too many brownie points you know?Christmas came, she unwrapped the tickets and wouldn't you know it,i was a pretty popular boy.i love when a plan comes together.the game was Friday night,March 22nd so we left home early, drove a couple hours to the Halifax Airport and off we went to Toronto, arriving a couple of hours later.i was born in Toronto but left about 60 years ago when i was just a kid,my Dad was in the bakery business and got transferred all over the place so it's always a shock to the system to arrive back in the big city, leaving this little place we live now with about 500 people.the hustle and bustle is fine for some folks i'm sure but my neck got sore trying to see the tops of the buildings?unreal.we stayed at a little Airbnb place close to the CN Tower, the ScotiaBank Arena where the Raptors play and we could walk everywhere as we didn't have wheels.all good.anyway the game was exciting but they lost, not playing so well right now, lots of strange sights to see in the stands and of course, thousands of people there and we have to have a couple obnoxious drunks behind us?then we found out,2 guys right beside us from Halifax,Nova Scotia and 3 women behind us from Cape Breton Island,Nova Scotia.amazing.i think my brownie point account is in good standing for a while.our first NBA game was exciting, lots to see in the city.we took the train from the Airport to Downtown and then back to the Airport and i got a big kick out of Union Station.it's over 100 years old, started before WW1.i wished i took more pictures and i'm sure i was there many times when i was a kid and when my Dad,a 17 year old kid left this little town about 1950 for Toronto for work, alone and with a Corn Flakes box full of sandwiches his Mom made for him and a few bucks in his pocket,he would've gone into Union Station.i loved it and could've wandered around there for days i'm sure.all in all,a good time but i must say,i enjoy the view from our front window here at home, more than i enjoyed the view from the window of out Airbnb.all good and i'm sure we'll go do it again and i'll get a Tig welder one of these days?

Been to Toronto many times on business. Always found folks up there good to deal with.
I like that you clear US Customs at the Toronto airport. |

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Bought 40 sacks of black mulch at a local diy center. Rented their truck, since I didn't want to clean out my camper shell, duck under the liftgate to load and unload, and reload the stuff. $19 well spent. Threw the sacks around in the planter. I'll slit their bellies another day.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
oh ya,i'm not as stoopid as i look,my brownie point account is in good shape but i can wipe it out at a moments notice??we saw the Ripley's Aquarium but didn't go.we didn't have much time as goofy as that sounds.we had never done this before but i'm sure we'll do it again but left home Friday at 7:00 for the 2 hour drive to Halifax and the airport and to be there early like they want, then the 2 hour flight, figure out the train from the airport to Union Station, then find our Airbnb place.we really only had time to check in,go find a place to eat and then walk to the game for 6:00 pm,started at 7:00.our flight out was Saturday at 4:00 pm so i guess we could've gone Saturday but i don't like going anywhere like that when you have to watch the clock so i'm sure we'll do it again and maybe next time, add a day and do a few attractions?we talked about going to see the Raptors again but maybe driving to Boston,it's only 10 or 12 hours from here,we'd have wheels, you just never know what's around the corner? it's all good.we had a good time, she loved it.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
re-worked the canopy buddy gave me. he said first it was off a sb obs, but after mounting it, didn't come off no obs. he then told me it was on a sb dodge- makes more sense. the cab lines don't match and it hangs over the rear sides of the box a little bit. asked him if had ladders tied on top as it was severely gouged and scratched. he told me no, he dragged it down his driveway upside down.....

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Went out front to distribute some of the mulch we bought yesterday. Got weeds pulled and one sack of mulch put down, and the right knee wasn't having more of that. Can't squat repeatedly, can't kneel. I've been putting off physical therapy for weeks by taking it easy, and that just ain't working.

You've transformed that truck nicely. Red and black are win win. Reminds me of the '90 Blazer I bought new for my (X) wife when she graduated nursing school Quote:

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...
Neck surgery I had last day of November fixed my spinal cord kink and a couple other neck items, but it didnt fix what they thought was nerve damage in my right shoulder and arm.
Yesterday I went in and had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder. Was supposed to take a little over an hour, took three hours. He said there was much more damage in there than he figured. I dunno how they didnt come up with that with all the xrays and MRI's. Hopefully this will have me all fixed up. I have to start PT today which seems pretty quick after having surgery yesterday. OK the weird thing, and I bet some of you guys have had this. They put a nerve blocker in my shoulder and it killed my arm from the should down to my finger tips. I had my arm in a sling for several hours but took it out and just rested it on a pillow while I sat around. I could have jabbed a knife right in my arm and wouldnt have felt it. I sat down for lunch and used my left hand to lift my right arm up on the table because it kept slipping off my lap (so weird). I got up from the table and forgot to let my arm down and it just flopped down like a giant wet noodle. Zero feeling ... Thank goodness when I got up this morning it was back to normal feeling again. Shoulder hurts a bunch and will probably hurt more after PT this afternoon. They gave me Oxy for the pain but Id rather take extra strength Tylonal instead, did the same with my neck surgery.
